Empire Strikes Back - BACTA TANK *WIP*

hiya,

Just thought i would join and post my new *WIP*

i been using max for a few years on and off, nothing brillent i will say, but i decided to really have a good crack at it and learn how to use it ..

i started this project a month or more ago, and have a had few weeks off cause of personal stuff,

im gonna get back into finishing it up.. its my third attempt at a model, the first too were too ambitious and so didnt progress very far. but this one is worth finishing i think..

would be great to know thoughts and stuff.. on it.. thanks...

hadnt realised i had done a lil more to the model since the last WIP pic i saved..

 

Looks like a good model with nice detailing. You have reference pic to post along too?

 

yeah sorry, i been using a combination of reference from the guide to techonolgy, a hasbro toy i think it is, and film footage. seen below

Be careful with them damn toys. They're notorious for being wrong. I can see differences in these two pics already.

 

yeah, there are so many inconsistances between studio props, replicas, toys, illustrations.. is why im working from a few sources the main use of the "toy" reference was to get some basic proportions where things are kinda in relationship to each other, then take that basic model and refine it with actually footage refence to achive the "orthentic look"
