They're getting the donut portion (that fits over the cloth hat) as a group in the PFF for about $35 a pop. Just wondered if any of you wanted one. They said they could order them as the group (cheaper that way), and ship em up here when they get em (few bucks extra for shipping up here of course, but if you guys want me to have them send them all to me, I'll pick up the shipping costs).

here is the link to the PFF thread

We're building a Desert Rebel Trooper, but if you all want to do the helmet, let us know. :D It'll be fun to add a few squads of rebel troopers to the ranks of the Rebel Legion. ;) [face_devil]

HA you rebels have no clue about the might of the empire.

but how cool would that be if we all had rebel trooper outfits for C3?

Porbably not collecting money for at least a month (or at the earliest, early-mid September). Many of us are recovering after SDCC.

But we have 14 orders so far, and I originally told the maker that we would have 10. If the order number goes up, then we might be able to get them either cheaper, or do 2 batches of oders.

It's an exciting costume, and the helmet is the only part that has to be purchased from a specialist. Everything else is pretty much commercially available. Except for the flight helmets, which must be purchased on Ebay. Our design will probably not use the cloth helmet, because of the dust rag we're putting on it. :D

Let us know if you want in!

We're getting the helmets, the plastic "donunt" from a well known armor maker, for a great price ($35).

Phoenix is making a Desert Rebel Trooper. You folks in Denver can do the same, or make the classic Endor Trooper, or make a Mountain Rebel Trooper costume. It's up to you. :D

    Go for it, Swomz!

Check out the threads that we have for the DRT to get an idea for what we're looking at doing, and maybe find something similar to do that would work with Colorado, while keeping with the feel for the Endor Trooper. It could be a lot of fun. :D

The picture I got when I heard Mountain Rebel Trooper was like the winter camo that the army uses on a warmer trooper uni

I was just planning on doing an endor trooper, but if everyone wants to do some kind of mountain or snow rebel trooper, we could do that too (not the hoth-style tho...those were downright ugly, and would be too hot). We could use the Arctic Camo style (white, gray, and I think some blue in there too...can't remember).

Oh, I think the regular Endor Trooper is perfect for a Mountain Unit. We just have to come up w/ a cool name and design a kick @$$ patch for our uni.

    [face_laugh] --Chunk :D

Well, let's pray that you get snow this winter. ;) You could always do the Standard Endor, then just have winter ponchos/smocks to go over that, so you have a winter and summer costume. :D

well basically I would think something along the lines of the following material:

    The snow poncho
    Winter camo pants
    gloves (black?)
    boots (army, black?)
    black socks
    pink underwear :)

    some type of hat/helmet?
what would be underneath the poncho?

or we could also do the Hoth Trooper, I think that may be the actual Mountain/Snow Rebel Trooper

I just found out that those "dusters" were just full length lab coats died camo. That's a cheap alternative to a real duster, if you want that Han Solo look.

I've got some pix of the guys from the movie (& one female) It looks like a pretty easy costume.

Multi Pocket Pants (that you won't mind getting dyed)
T-Shirt - Long Sleeve Mock Turtle Neck Color=Tan
Over Shirt - Short Sleeved & I think I have a pattern for it Color=Slighty off of t-shirt
Belt - Many different kinds, both web & leather
    Hiking boots - Any kind
"Duster"/Field Jacket/Poncho - One Color or hand dyed Camo (Mountain &/or Snow Camos)
Accessories - Pouches, Bandoliers, holsters, guns, etc.
Helmet - Two pieces, the doughnut part and a cloth flight helmet which I have found for around $25-$40 all over the internet.
Leather Work Gloves - coming over the wrist w/ some kind of tie or band.
Blasters - differing kinds, we are a rag tag unit afterall.

Some of this stuff people already have, and we don't have to match completely, because that's not the way things were done in the rebellion. The only thing that I think should match are the helmets (mostly, some variation is good) and the t-shirts (which we can probably buy cheap @ a surplus store in bulk - depending on how many people get on board w/ this).
