    Title: Endor Light
Summary: Leia's thoughts on her father after knowing he was dead.
Notes: Based on the end of ROTJ.

The Endor moon seemingly rang of freedom as the second Death Star could be seen exploding
in the sky high above everyone.

Leia Organa wrenched her gaze from the man attending her wounds on the forest floor up to
the clouds in the sky where the Death Star could be seen only now as a sparkling cloud of
    glimmering dust.

It was then that Leia also knew that the Dark One was dead.

Tears welled in her lovely brown eyes as she considered the strong chance that her brother
had failed in his quest to save their fallen father. That Luke had loved their father so much he
had been willing to die in effort to save him from his ever consuming black heart.

Leia could not even begin to understand Luke's reasoning. Not after all the horror that Vader
had been responsible for, or could have prevented with his power over the Force, and had
chosen to allow millions their deaths during his reign of terror over Leia's lifetime.

Vader had even given the Order to murder the old sand farm couple on Tatooine that had
accidentally come across the stolen plans that Leia herself had carelessly let drop from her
Ship when it was captured. She should have known the slim chances of it getting to Obi-Wan
    first.

Luke had never blamed her once for their deaths though. He hadn't blamed Vader either like
she did for Alderaan's end. Luke had blamed only himself for not being there with Owen and
    Beru when they had died.

They had been his only family his whole life and he had let them down in the end. That was
how Luke would always see it.

It was then a sudden warmth enveloped her heart mixed with a deep sadness.

Luke was coming back to them, but the Dark One was dead.

Tears flowed down her cheeks for Luke's pain, and for the loss of a father that Leia would
    never know. Ever.

The reality finally cut it's wound in her heart, and Leia, daughter of Anakin Skywalker,
allowed herself to grieve, if only for a few moments.

Darth Vader deserved nothing from her. But Anakin, deserved a few of her tears at least.

    "You love him!"

That voice brought the Princess back to the current reality of now, and the young woman
    couldn't help but smile.

Good job of contrasting Luke and Leia's feelings over the losses in their lives. I think Leia's history with Vader definitely affected the way she reacted to the knowledge that he was her father. Nice work.

    Lovely viggie Sara! :)

How true...Leia never knew Anakin and it was him he was grieving over...not the dark one he had become. :(

    What a lovely approach you've used. :)

And the line that broke into her thoughts...typical Han! ;) You ended it nicely too! :)

Great job. I never looked at the Lars' death from Leia's perspective before- that she might feel guilty for their murders.

Darth Vader deserved nothing from her. But Anakin, deserved a few of her tears at least.

Beautiful line. It sums up her emotions (and situation) perfectly.

Hey Sara, this was great! How Leia felt about Vader's death was, IMO, one of the most important unexplained things in the original trilogy. Nice job exploring the conflict in her heart over Anakin's death vs. Vader's.

Nice the difference between Luke and Leia and how they feel about losing their families.
I think it was great how you showed how Leia tried to make a difference in her heart between Anakin and Vader.
