My vote http://boards.theforce.net/uk_regional_forum/b10027/22825111/p1/?2 Jimbo has been busy on all the English threads by the looks of it, but it looks like us Northerners are always the first to be vocal and express their opinion - to the point and opinionated! As always! What inspired the thread anyway Jimbo? Please dont say the Daily Mirror! 'A new interactive project that aims to get the nation talking about the icons of England launches today (9 January)' - certainly the DCMS does that! Now I know where my taxes go...
No, I came across it on a news website and was interested to see what stereotype we think we fit into. Unfortunately the other boards respopnse to the post was less than impressive.
Yeehaa! Go Northerners! Yes - was an interesting read - the Department for Culture... have really got it going on havent they? Heritage falling to ruin around the UK because they wont release funding (the Lottery picking up a lot of that) but they want us to pick an icon that symbolises England? English Heritage? Double edged sword that one... http://www.24hourmuseum.org.uk/newcastleandgateshead/news/ART13762.html?ixsid= Icon? I would rather have the real thing...
