    Hi y'all!
Hope some of you are making plans to come to B'Ham for Omega Con in March? Cathy B. of Matters of the Force, that we've all enjoyed for years at Dragon Con, is bringing her MOTF programming to OC, and the con is already growing so fast it moved out of one smaller hotel and into the convention-center Sheraton hotel downtown.

It is a 24 hour con and we're going to need more ideas to fill panels for the SW track. Perhaps something Fan Force-oriented, like how to start a club/FF in your own area? Any ideas, contributions, volunteers, costumers, etc, would be greatly appreciated so please spread the word.

And by the way, if you'd like to set up a FF table for ESB, or join yours with/next to ours (we now have FF status also), lets shoot some ideas around. I'm in charge of fan tables at the con, so just shoot me an email from the con's website.
The promoters are really wanting this to be a fan-friendly con, and they really do listen a lot, so any ideas or contributions for what you'd like to make a con fun, please share!

    Hope to see you there!

Depends on what day it is. I don't know if I'll be home or not... Sounds fun, though.

ahh, I see I've peaked interest, bwahaaaa!

The con takes place St. Patrick's Day Weekend. Parade will be during the city's St. Patrick's Parade on Friday, March 14 at 11AM, and the con goes 24 hours, ending Sunday at 4-5-ish. Hope one day to see the parade moved to Saturday, but for now it's the city's (we'll take it over one day, they just don't know it yet!).

We do have a panel on the schedule right now for club-forming, and it's Friday at 4:00. That may be early in the game, but I still want the panel to be fun, informative, and hopefully spark somebody into taking that first step. I think the panel would benefit if we can get more than one club, or club type, representing. Fan Force experience would offer a great perspective for someone trying to figure out just how to get things started.

There is a break for group memberships: 10-20 folks, it's $20, 21-40 is $17, and over 40 will be $15. Deadline is Feb 29. You also get a discount on OC t-shirts if you order them at the same time with group memberships. We have an envelope going, and anyone is welcome to throw in with us, but your badge will most likely carry the Syndicate name. We'll be mailing that off around the 25th.

Hope to see you guys there! For a first year con, this is already growing. We begged Cathy to come on board and she's thrown full weight into it, so it will be a ton of fun. We're just ecstatic to have something in our own backyard finally!
