For the most part, I've found everything I've ever wanted to in the stores. It may have taken some time and patience, but I eventually found it. If you're looking for older collectibles from other decades, then eBay is probably a good place to go.

I know, eBay is very, very evil 'cause of the shipping rates, but I'm also very lazy and don't wanna drive around.

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea, DRK HLMT?

In response to the matter of waiting for the 99 cent Luke Bespin Duel to arrive in the mail, I can manage to delay gratification a few days because it saves me time (LOTS) and gas, which right now is not exactly cheap. Plus, with this particular auction, at 99 cents, even including shipping charge it comes in under Walmart, if you count the sales tax.

Principally, though, I do agree that EBay is strictly a convienience when the store-to-store-to-store hunt becomes annoying. Which, for me, happens real fast.

    Three Cheers for Mon-Mothma!!!!!
That is also how I justify my EBay purchases.
It does save a lot of time, gas, and agrivation.

Hehe. Well M.M. since my eBay obsession has been quelled. I find that I enjoy going on "The Hunt". Scrounging around in backlit TRUs and Wal-Marts looking for the elusive figures is my version of Raiders of the Lost Ark. I feel like Indy when I find that rare, one of a kind figure that everyone is looking for. The thrill and exhilaration from "The Find" makes it all worth while. And like Dr. Jones I too love to find things for the sake of "finding" them. Muahahaha!!!!

Okay, call me senile, but I can't help it! I guess I'm gonna have to break out the whip, the hat and leather jacket for the quest for the Holy Grail (Palpatine) so if you see some weird guy cracking a whip in your local TRU at the kid who just took the last Palpatine, come by and say hello. Or just run away as fast as you can and hope I didn't notice you and let on that you actually know me!

    Happy Hunting! :D

    I'd keep the whip hidden in public if I were you. 8-}

    Here's what I found yesterday:

  8. Plenty of Obi-Wan pilots at Abingdon Walmart

  9. Toys R Us in Bel Air as usual had crap, nothing, shelf warmers

  10. Target in Bel Air had shelf warmer action figures, they did have the Nexu and Anakin with the sliced up Geonosian

  11. And I'm also all about the thrill of the hunt. All these places are about 5-10 minutes from my house, so it's no big deal. I can certainly understand the aggravation of driving only to find nothing. But Palpatine has become my Holy Grail of action figures.

    Sapient, I'm looking too.

At our last meeting, yaddel had a Palpatine (I think sithspawn got him), but it was nice to see him in the flesh...ahem.. plastic.

I also found an extra Palpatine today (perfect condition) as well as Djas Puhr. I trade it with the person who can find me a Chewbacca Bespin first.

When I was a kid, Toys R Us was THE place to go. Now, TRU is a joke. Of all things, it's Walmart that is the dependable store. I don't get it.

That's true DarthSapient. It seems TRU has become a haven for scalpers. Some of the Employees are pretty cool, but some are just out to make extra money on the side by stashing the hard-to-get figures and selling them to scalpers who in turn sell them at an unreasonably high price. I guess Wal-Mart isn't targeted as much and they pretty much get new shipments fairly often.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen a figure I was searching for at TRU. My luck is always better at Walmart.

You know, I actually did look today. I thought I heard Palpy calling out to me. Chewy was picked up, but it looks like things might change real soon. Of all places, TRU had Obi-Wan Starfighter, Orn-Free Taa, Rebel Endor Soldier, Han, and the Geonosian with the Massif. I had Orn and Obi and didn't want the others. So I picked up the Geonosian/Massif. But Palpy continues to taunt me.

I have been having a rough time finding the new figures in Mint Condition. I finally found the Acklay at Eldersberg Wal-Mart in almost prefect condition. I found djas at frederick kb toys but it was all bent up.

I still need Djas, Palp, and Chewie.
