I can't even tell what that's a picture of. Brochures? Empty boxes? Single sheets of paper?

What makes me scratch my head is that they wouldn't even have to do that. A press release on their website would surely have an equally positive effect on their stock prices and would garner some interest from retailers, especially if Disney were to also put out a list of partners they were working with on merchandising.

All this does is take up empty floorspace, which could be used to push other products that they have. Or even concepts for future ranges of toys to get early buzz. Anything so long as it's something.

Maybe these actually are the toys. They're officially branded mystery boxes. Guaranteed disappointment inside every single one! [face_whistling]

Are people really looking forward to that IG-88? I mean, the detail looks great and all, but I don't know what the appeal is. He's in ESB for, what, 5 - 7 seconds? He doesn't even do or say anything. Yet people cry blasphemy if they hear suggestions of Asajj Ventress being introduced into the 6" black series line.

Where the hell are all the female figs, eh? Leia in Boush disguise....oooo aahh...whatever...she's posing as a dude in that incarnation. Where's Padme? Aayla Secura? Shaak Ti?

Chewgumma - that display is at Toy Fair - it exists only to show that they will have TFA product and will have floor displays like this in stores when the product launches. Empty displays like this won't be in stores taking up space.

Keeping my fingers crossed that TFA merchandise is shown at Celebration...

They are keeping the toys and packaging hush hush.

What are the chances the names Kylo Ren, Finn, Rey, ect.... are actually code names and their real names are completely different? (maybe as in - Jacen, Jaina, etc...).

I enjoy the Black Series 6" line. I just hope Hasbro will not over-produce some of their figures like they did with Han Solo, Luke Bespin, Slave Leia, Greedo, Obi-Wan. It's embarrassing seeing these figures peg-warming in all the stores. Hopefully the people at Hasbro will learn from the sales data and correct this problem for next time around.
Infact, I think it would be better if they under-produce instead of over-produce. Like what happened with Disney's Frozen toys. There was a shortage in toys, which caused such a huge demand that people were willing to pay over double the retail price for Elsa dolls. Yet on the other hand, don't over-produce too many and get stuck with toys sitting on store shelfs for months and months until 50% sales.

Are they releasing any vintage styled figures for this? I really love the simplistic charm of those figures.

IMO, both simple and more aesthetically pleasing charm. There's something about old toys that gives a greater sense of artistic interpretation. They weren't just copies.

Does anyone think there will be huge displays on a given day with all sorts of merchandise in stores like they did for the prequels?
