Episode 3 Trailer

The Episode 3: Fall of the Jedi trailer will hit theaters probably around November, 2004. What would you all like to see in the trailers? Or will you hide your eyes and cover your ears for fear of spoilers?

 

"Fall of the Jedi"?

There's no title yet buddy... despite what you may have heard.

Anyway -- I am not afraid of spoilers in the trailers. I was too frickin' stupid to figure out that Qui-Gon died in TPM from the Trailer B that makes it a bit obvious, so I guess I'm good for anything a trailer throws my way.

Although I hope they keep anything final duel related (or Vader-related) out.

I hate to disappoint everyone, but the subtitle won't be like "Fall of the Jedi" or "Rise of the Empire." Get over it.

 

Right. No "of the" titles. The PT version was AotC. Ep. III won't follow the same pattern.


Anyway, can't wait for that trailer! I want to see the military looking more like the Empire; I want to see some horror (which indicates dramatic moments ) on the face of Padme, sadness on the face of Obi-Wan, and anger on the face of Anakin; I want to see a quick shot of Mace dueling with Dooku; and I wouldn't mind seeing a shot of Sidious pulling back his hood, with the camera cutting right before we see his face.

Could this be the first thing that he says that is correct through the whole saga??

Anyway, posting trailers thoughts like that should see the user banned. . It was awesome and it gave me goosebumps. I cannot wait.

 

I like the above concept, additional I'd like to see some very important details:

- Darth Sidious, seen from behind, beginning to pull back the hood. Fade out just before you can actually see his head.

- Just a tiny piece of DV, like a boot or an outline

and/or

- some people in a hospital/workshop combination assembling something you cannot see. However, you hear our favourite asthmatic breathing.

I'm going for a tiny piece of DV, perhaps the back of his helmet.

I dont want too see Anakin being 'repaired' I just want to see Anakin disapear, a shot of palps somehow saving him, and then seeing Vader.

 

yeah, I don't think they should show Darth Vader at all in the trailer. It'll take away whatever moment of surprise/suspense GL has in store for us in the actual movie.

Even though I won't watch the trailer, I don't think they should show ANY key plot points. Everyone knows that the movie is one of the most anticipated films of all time. So instead of going all out in the previews, GL should make it descrete but interesting enough for it to wet out apetite even more so

 

tPM and AotC trailers showed some important pieces of the films (I checked from the dvd), so it could have DV. But I don't care at all, because I'm not going to see it before I've seen the film!

 

An easy way to avoid any spoilers the trailers may pose is to run out the theatre singing:
"La, la, la, I'm not listening to you, la, la, la!" out of tune, as soon as you hear the music.

Ahem, I agree no important plot points should be shown. That's why I think the shots should fade in and out quickly, so you see something but aren't quite sure of what it is, making you anticipate the movie even further as you want to see what context the shot was in.

 

I know, I know, I know it won't be "Fall of the Jedi"; I just wanted to see how much fanboy backlash I would incur if I went ahead and titled it myself. Yikes...!

 

I don't see why we can't call it whatever we want until the offical title is revealed.

I for one am considering the working title of:
Star Wars Episode 3: How Palpy Got His Groove Back

 

I think the title should be Fall of the Jedi,it works well with the saga stories(end of Prequel Trilogy,Fall of the Jedi,end of the Original Trilogy,Return of the Jedi,).I also think we should here barely any music in beginning,Duel of the Fates in the middle,Darth Vader theme should be played,Duel of the Fates music played hard at the end.Then the music stops and when it says Episode III,we should hear Padme scream and hear two babies crying.

Also in the middle of the trailer,we should see Boba and Mace staring at eachother and not see Vader,but hear him say,"He's all yours bounty hunter."

"Darth Sidious; The story of a Sith lord and his mojo"
No, seriously i do not. But maybe they should avoid the "of the" thing.

As much as I love trailers I just don't know if I want to see them for episode III. In fact right now I am in full no trailer for me mode, but they are just too tempting to avoid.

 

Sometimes it can be good with a little snack.

 

to me it seems pretty obsurd that they would show any of the things you mentioned. It gives away the entire movie.

yeah, and give away the end of the movie... that is not what a trailer does.

Think back to the TPM and AOTC trailers...

we had some shots of land, some flashes of battle, a line at the end that doesn't reveal anything. Really, no plot points are shown, just things having to do with visual or character design (i.e. clone war vehicals, maul's double bladed light saber) and some juicy things about the characters (anakin getting hit by lightning, but you can't tell unless you pause it).

I don't have my copy with me (I am at work), but if we really want to think about what will see in the trailers, we should list exactly what was in the trailers for the first two movies.

 

I dunno - my friends were all spoiler-free for AOTC and they enjoyed it. I knew many spoilers, like I knew of Jango Fett and Dooku and the general plotline.

But if I hadn't known Jango Fett was in the film, it would have made his appearance even cooler.

The one thing the TPM trailer showed (besides the "nooooooooooo!") that REALLY pissed me off was showing Maul's double-bladed saber. Of course, it felt like I had taken meth after watching the trailer, but I would have been blown away in the theatre.

I too doubt there will be any major spoilers, but who knows?

What if, for example, Asajj Ventress is actually in Episode III, and she's shown in one of the trailers? I don't think I'd like to know that before hand.

Even little things like the way Anakin is going to look.

I think I'm going to try to stay as spoiler-free as possible.

That being said, I'll read the trailer discussion threads in this forum, hoping they will be spoiler free, and then decide whether or not to watch them.

Or, being starved for SW info by that time, I will likely check out the trailer at the first opportunity.

 

I certainly was´nt spoilerfree before TPM.
I tried to stay as spoilerfree as possible for AOTC. I knew some small things, not very much at all.

And i can´t really decide if i should watch the trailer or not.
Because it can do good to actually see just alittle something, to get you so excited and hungry for SW that you could bite your arm off.

For example, the presentation of Darth Maul
in TPM is pretty cool.
First, we only get to see his face, and that he fights with what looks like a normal lightsaber.
In the end, he flips back his hood and reveal
his horns, and he ignites the other blade.
Of course you knew all about Maul before epI hit the theatres, but if you had´nt,
you would have been surprised and hopefully amused.

I do know the trailer should be first shown on Thanksgiving of 2004.

 

I don't know. For some reason, I get the feeling that nobody will see the Empire's takeover coming, except for the audience. So why should there be a blood coup or battle between stormtroopers and clonetroopers? Yes, there will be the Jedi Purge... but why should there be a galactic scale battle between good and evil? That doesn't happen until ROTJ.

 

I am so excited for the trailer! It needs to show more of the clone war, anakin arguing with obiwan (like in ep 2 trailers), and a pregnant padme, and above all plenty of glimpses of action. And i loved both of the long ideas for the trailer. They gave me goosebumps too!
