Don't isolate these new films too much from the first six films. The bad guys cannot be totally unrelated to Sidious. The good guys cannot be totally unrelated to Luke.

Do make the films not for kids. Make the new films darker.

I like the idea of the ''old fossil'' joke about Han Solo. That would be great. That's the sort of symmetry that the saga needs. I'm not averse to the odd ''I have a bad feeling about this'', but I do NOT want every Tom, Dick and Harry saying it every five minutes.

You did. I agree and I desperately hope that Lucasfilm/Disney listen but, well, we're talking about Disney, who are rather in the business of producing stuff for six year-old kids and flogging ****loads of merchandise to them. I want the ST be be bloody good and agree with almost everything you said, but I am still a bit worried.

So, Walt, if you're up there in heaven .... have a word with God and he'll tell you that your old company really, very definitely does need to make a bloody good movie that doesn't disappoint the fans, especially the ones who grew-up in the 70s and 80s and pestered their parents for action figures and toys enough to provide finance for Lucasfilm for the next 20,037 years.

I'm not such a fanatic that I know every line of every movie by heart, but if I'm not mistaken that line was only said one time in each movie? Yeah?

I felt that the PT and Clone Wars - probably more Clone Wars - went a bit overboard with that sort of thing.

i have a bad feeling about only takes a second to say... at least it is not like having a nut cracker play in the third act for half an hour in each film... this simple line only takes two seconds to say and its done

I could see that getting old in a series that has 23 or so episodes a season (over 5 seasons.) Understood. But one sneak per movie is fine by me. And I've only seen the first season of TCW so it hasn't stood out to me.

making Luke bad would go great with Mark hamill being out of shape

because the dark side of the force will make you out of shape and fat

so mark hamill would be the perfect actor for such a character, for such a role

DO: Introduce a new cast while paying homage to the original Big 3/4.
    DO: Bring back Chewie
DO: Open with a "Diplomatic Mission"
DO: Pay homage to EU without constraining yourself by it (Maybe throw in a fan favorite character Katarn or Horn. I'm looking at you two.)
DO: Return to a "Used" Galaxy, with some refurbishments...

DO NOT: Repeat old plot lines
    DO NOT: Bring in Clones
DO NOT: Have everyone who ever appeared pop back up, aka... Don't give it all away on the first date. (Yeah it would be cool to see Lando, but that can wait until 8)
DO NOT: Have Luke fight this battle, save that for later.
DO NOT: Make it a movie about Boba Fett, that is another story for another day

    Do:
    Bring back the big 3
Introduce kids of big 3 (Jaina and Ben)
Use a totally new and original plot with EU characters
Have the line 'I have a bad feeling about this.'
Do not resurrect anyone except Mara Skywalker and maybe Chewie and Fett
Make it family oriented, but not 5 year old oriented
Include lots of chasing, fighting and dueling
Keep us in suspense (mostly anyway)
    Make it great

    Don't:
    Include Mortis
    Completely trash EU
    Bring back Jar Jar
Stick in a totally unbelievable and unrealistic romance
    Use Force ghosts
    make it awful

Dont: Have Fodsinbeed Annodue, the 2 headed podrace announcer

Don't: Have a CGI Max Rebo Band

Don't have C3P0 switch heads with a battle droid

Do: Show some Jedi/ Sith training scenes like in ESB but on some unique original planet, temple location

While the EU is good, many are unfamiliar. We must remember to make it welcoming for all audiences... Perhaps EU as inspiration not as doctrine... Ben and Jaina may survive but don't expect Jaina to be a Master and Ben to be a knight...

I think Force Ghosts will return, you don't drop a line like, Qui Gon learned to maintain his identity within the Force by the SHAMAN of the WHILLS. (The Whills being one of Lucas's earlies ideas) then just end the series... If anything you take that line, you take the OT characters and their progeny and you make an entire series from that...

    Do:
Make a credible visual style according to the social and political situation in the galaxy.
Respect the EU. If the story is set after the novels it doesn´t need to be too constricted by it. Kill off any characters that won´t be used if need be.
Make a good mix between comical situations / drama / action.
Use 1 to 3 of the big three. In their absence, make us know which was their fate and let them be remembered as heroes.
Make an awesome multiple battle like in TPM or RotJ. You know, simultaneously in space and in land.
Have John Williams compose the musical score.
Have the villain possess an unknown identity / secret revelation. Obviously, don´t reveal it on this movie.

    Don´t:
Go crazy on Force Ghosts / Holocrons (or even flashbacks! *shivers*) just because actor / actress X wants to have a cameo on the movie to advertise his / her career even if he / she hates working on a Star Wars movie.
Use childish "comedy". Specially never again use that type of "comedy" on C-3PO.
Retcon all of the EU into oblivion.

Do something similar to ANH and TPM.
Do disregard the EU if necessary.
Do ask for George's approval on designs and concepts.
Do respect all six movies and the events portrayed in them.

    Don't do a bad movie.

DO have the OT heroes return
DO have them portrayed by their original actors
    DO have better choreography
    DO have engaging new characters
DO cast better actors for the lead roles than Jake Lloyd and Hayden Christensen
    DO have an interesting villain

DON'T have the Senate play a pivotal role in the plot
DON'T have clones of any kind
DON'T use the EU, outside of cameos
    DON'T reuse the Sith
DON'T have mostly useless distractions like pod racing
DON'T mention midichlorians, The Prophecy, or The Chosen One
DON'T use Gungans outside of cameos

So you're going to Walt Disney to ask for bloody gory "dark" Star Wars movies. You may want to look him up on Wikipedia.

Don't: Let George Lucas write or direct.

Do: Make sure George Lucas has as little to do with the production process as humanly possible. Also, any terrible idea he offers up (I'd wager there are many) should be easily vetoed.

Walt didn't make stuff for six year olds. If they liked his stuff so much the better, but they weren't his target. His target was everybody. Better read more about him.

Yes, the trick is to have him involved just the right amount, but no more. He is a genius but he does need input and rounding out of his ideas from others. And there's nothing wrong with that.
