In my opinion it's never a good idea to bring back a character that is shown dying on screen
the maul part of the clone wars is just ignored by me for this reason, i think it's weak. and it devalues what you've seen on screen

 

My guess is he's mo-capped with Andy Serkis playing him.

 

If I were to venture a guess, I'd say that the Palpatine thing is as reliable as the hand.

Well, there is a robotic hand prop that exists. So it's something we know for a fact.
I doubt the production team created it just for the picture they posted on the net.
As for who's hand it is... it could be just a background piece found in a garbage container on that Tatooine-like planet. Or it could be something else...

Now that really is hard to believe. Why wouldn't you get the Emperor to play the Emperor unless he's not the Emperor but only pretending or he's some other reincarnation aka Dark Empire with his spirit in another body?

these rumors lately... well all of the rumors, the hand the lightsaber adventure, the cloned, resurrected palpatine cyborg seems so hokey and odd... none of it seems legitimate - at least i hope it isn't, this all seems about as corny as the romantic dialogue in AOTC

As for the palpatine rumor. eh....I kinda saw that one coming. I'm kinda expecting the "Darth Vadar is ressurected" and Obi-Wan makes an appearence rumors to resurface soon (coarse the second one will no doubt bring the Ewan vs CGI Alec debates)

again... this characters in the movie, that characters in the movie, this is in the movie everyone's in the movie
wonder where all these old characters fit in with the massive cast already in the movie...
seems like a parade of the saga going on rather than a movie

i really thing the info these guys are getting are from a variety of future star wars project, and it's being filtered to the bloggers and writers as ep 7 stuff. I really think its parts from many other projects the story group have been planning

Rebels and the coming novels and comics will definitely introduce ideas and concepts to set up this next trilogy and the future of Star Wars. It would not surprise me one bit if they are already laying the groundwork for something like this to take place.

This isn't even a new report. Kellvin's already reported on this. Almost exactly one year ago, too.

What's weird is that this report dropped at 2am on a Friday and it's written in such a way as to suggest Palpatine didn't actually DIE, which is silly, because even if he did survive a fall down a shaft of that size, THE DEATH STAR BLEW UP.

The rumor has always been that his spirit/essence/being whatever is being channelled/resurrected into a different character.

 

while I agree, Luke managed to escape dragging a useless Vader around the floor... if Palpatine didn't die in the fall, there was ample time for him to get off before the death star blew up

but i still think the idea of him being alive is a bad idea

 

They think that cyborg thing we saw last week is what he'll look like.

 

He just fell like 600 feet into a reactor that suffered at least a MINOR explosion before the whole thing went up.

The idea that his body survived Death Star II is beyond ridiculous. His spirit/essence? Sure. His body? No. He died.
