ST Episode 8 Title - The Last Jedi

Maybe to differentiate it from the anthology films too.

 

I want a new story (we saw new ones in the first six new episodes). I also want titles to keep to the pattern (as they did in the first six episodes). What's so weird about that? I admit I did find your reply a bit amusing though.

You know what I never considered that. Good point. I have OCD anyway so this sort of thing was probably going to bother in most cases.

That's actually a pretty good title. Simple and to the point.

 

That was not a theatrical poster though. It was a smaller giveaway poster from an event.

One question, why did they suddenly choose a new font color?

 

I hope you're right, Chorus! I hope that either we will find that some of Luke's Jedi survived kylo's purge of the Jedi, or that Luke will have started training others. I definitely hope that Luke will not literally be the last Jedi forever. I doubt that the filmmakers would completely sabotage themselves and the future of Star Wars by eliminating Jedi knights from all future stories. Another possibility is that maybe Luke literally IS the last to carry the Jedi title because Luke's newly trained force users may end up going by a different title? I hope not though. "Jedi" is pretty iconic.

True, but that simple poster was never said that was a true poster, but in fact i saw theses simple posters, with just the name in some cinemas here.

 

Liking the title, and the ambiguity of 'jedi', personally I think it refers to both Luke & Rey, but that's just me.

Ok, so, now that we have the title, do you think they'll save everything else for Celebration or we are getting more stuff before Celebration. TFA release went out like this:

Title
Teaser (3 weeks later)
Character name reveal (2 weeks after the teaser)


But anyway, accent on the Force plot! Yes!

 

I agree, and can see Luke sacrificing himself for Rey. She's surely got to be a Skywalker now, considering its called the 'Skywalker Saga'.

 

The first two titles have been about the lore of SW which shows that the FO vs Resistance is really a backdrop.

If I had ONE critique about the title it's that I would have liked to see the dark side in a title at some point.

I think with the death of Carrie, there is NO WAY they kill off Luke for this movie. Maybe IX, but not now. That would be just too heavy.

 

Perhaps because it'll be a darker film than TFA... Just as how the font for the Episode III logo was red in the trailers
