The Episode I DVD is coming out soon and we're going to have a viewing party!

Let's plan on meeting at my place around 7PM on October 16 (the release date). We'll do our own little pot-luck, everyone brings a dish to share. Invite your friends!

Reply and let me know if you can make it!

I got me a COLOR TV! And it's got the new antenno hookup...not the old kind where ya screw tha two prongs to the set. Naw, on mine, I gots me Co-axiaaal connector. Now, I gets at least 5 channels!

whoo...ahhh 5 channels, I need to upgrade my B&W TV.

I'm sure I could get up into the place I use to work at. 12' screen, $80,000 audio system. Leather couches. How does that sound?

Guess we won't be watching it at Mav's workplace since the projector decided to commit suicide.

Trying to implicate Erica in something, Mav? Wrong place for the "Edited by Bobafemme" line... can't fool us! We're smart 'n' all.

    My thoughs about the DVD:

The transfer was 10x better than the VHS. I noticed so many more details than I could have with the VHS.

The extra scenes were done very well, especially Lap 2 of the podrace. It was nice seeing the elements of the novelization finally make it into the film.

The commentary was great, better than most commentaries...not as boring. The interesting thing is that the commentary was in surround, so george was on my right, etc.

The gag reel was worth the price of the DVD alone.

The changable menus were kewl. You could select the planet-theme that the menus would take. i.e. Naboo, Tatooine, or Coruscant.

    More thoughts to come...!

Okay I must chime in. My favorite part was the deleted scenes. When I read the book I thought they aided quite a bit and was disappointed that they weren't in the movie. Now I can see them and mentally insert them where they are supposed to go and the movie is so much better.
Tomorrow I will demonstrate what Mav was referring to about the transfer being so much better. Unless of course he or BDZ put it up tonight.
