Sth Bend, IN Episode II: Midnight at Showplace 16

Here's the scoop. I just got off the phone with the manager at Showplace 16. He said that they are planning on having 4 midnight showings (Wednesday night) for Episode 2. However, they are only authorized to sell tickets for one of those shows, and they have already sold out (GRRR!) The manager said they would not be authorized to sell tickets for the other midnight shows until at least next Tuesday (the 14th).

I would suggest that everyone call them daily and check to see if they are selling tickets, and post updates to this thread.

Also, since we are Star Wars fans, it is only proper for us to line up before the midnight show! For those of you who remember Episode 1, be 8PM the line was wrapped around the building. I suggest that we get to the theatre around noon, bring a cooler and a tent just in case it rains, and throw a little par-tay. We should print up some business cards with our web address and hand them out to people in the line who have never heard of us. Let me know what you guys think of this plan!

 

I love it when a plan comes together. Any way?s I was going to get there on Wednesday at around 9:00 AM but the night before I was going to swing by to see if there is a line. P.S. On Saturday at C2 they started lining up at 4:00AM to get at 9:00AM. But that was just for C2.

 

I will not be able to get there early but I will be there right after work. For EI I went about 3 hours before the show and I got in just fine but it will be fun. I do remember it was really cold out that night so bring your long johns unless it is a beutiful day.

 

I thought about a ESB party one night prior to that. I will post more detail when I figure them out for myself.

 

I will probably bring a portable generator so that we can get a little PS2 action going in line, as well as play some of the Star Wars movies...what do you guys think?

 

I have a hard enough time getting to work on most days.. don't think I'll be able to pull off the midnight show! Though I dunno... Definitely will be there thursday at the very least....

 

I think you are planning to spend way to much time in line..

My butt will be draggin too the next day at work too but it will be worth it. The last one was.

 

Okay, maybe the PS2 was a step too far...

 

Do you know how cool that would be.. take a projector and a screen..err..ahh..ya.. a step to far..

 

I jousted call 16 and they said call back tomorrow about ticket for more Midnight showings.

SuperSweet, you know me...I find any way to save a buck or two.

 

The office phone number is 299-6060. As of today they are not planing on having any more midnight showings. I encourage you all to call them and help the see things from a different point of view.

 

They are only having it on one screen. Correct me if I am wrong but for EI they had at least 2-3 screen showing it.

 

They actually had 6 screens if I remember right... 12:01 12:02 12:03 12:08 12:09 12:10.

 

So what, they are only planning on one showing of EII?

I called again today, they said that they still don't know when they will be selling tix for the other midnight showings.

Well.. that sounds a bit... like he's hoping that you don't know anything about movie theatres, or the fact that most of them can run a movie in two auditoriums at basically the same time...

Course... I remember when Episode I came out (when I was working in a theatre) and LucasFilm had all sorts of regulations as to how you could use their reels, so I don't know if that's part of the stipulations this time round, or not.. haven't heard as much about the restrictions this time around as last....

 

Just a side note.. I went and bought tickets at movies 16 last night... they have tickets on sale for 4 shows at midnight...
