FF:NSW Episode II - We're getting it before US

It's in the Metro Section of SMH today. It is going to be realesed world-wide on May 16, which means that NZ will get it first then Australia etc. So the Americans have to wait...

"Thanks to the international dateline, Star Wars Episode II- Attack of the Clones will open in Australia nearly a full say before it opens in the US. The fifth instalment in the George Lucas franchise will open on May 16 in more than 30 territories including Australia. So, New Zealand will be first (bummer), Australia second and US later."

 

OMG! NO one tell my friend who is flying to the US to see it before me!

Yeah its cool alright. The thing thats bumming me out is that Spiderman is released May3 in the USA, and I ORIGINALLY heard May 6 here. Since then, I have now heard it at May 23rd! That sux!!!

 

I don't think it was ever really going to be anything other than the Memorial Day weekend, and that's never before the second half of May.

 

I'm so going to rub this into those Yankees

 

Let's not forget that they had early charity screenings in the US for TPM, may happen this time too.
Whatever, we'll still get to see it

 

as someone from the US who will be spending the fall term in australia, i can't think of better news

my sister who will be here (in the US) wasn't that thrilled to hear that though

 

I already had a go at the Americans on TFN when the news first came out. Nearly got me killed.

I went for the ones who were always saying "We are Americans, we have a god-given right to see it before the rest of the world! If you don't like that, tough luck..."

I think I said "We get it first. HA HA." sort of thing.

Got flamed. Nearly got banned. Accused of being a troll. Accused of being racist. Accused of being ... well, everything, really. I'm sure you can imagine.


It was great fun.

 

I had a similar reaction to Oz over on the FFF board, though they took it better. I tried to find it but I couldnt. Basically their all jealous

1. "Shut the f--- up."

2. "It must be a mistake. If you get it on the 16th, we'll get it on the 15th, for sure. They wouldn't do that to us. We're Americans. We must see it first. There's no way anyone else will see it before us." etc
