im sure there will be some kind of get together, at least here in Chch, or were you thinking a national gathering? that might be a bit difficult to organise...

Heh, I know what you mean about early, I've been inviting people to Episode III for about 6 months now...
Where do you live? If you live around South Auckland I would totally do it, I know there would be heaps of people around here. Well, once I bully them into it there would be. :)

    Tim,

If you get some spare time up your sleave ... can you please create a new username???

I'd appreciate it ... coz I hate your username so much ... perhaps you were drunk when you created it???

Since you're a big Stargate fan ... your new username could be one of the following:

    StarGate
    Star-Gate
    Star_Gate
    Stargate
    STARGATE
    -StarGate-
    -Star-Gate-
    -SG1-
    SG-1
    StarGateDude

    Cheers...

I'll either be in ChCh or Welly by the time EP3 comes out. Doubt I'll be going to any midnight screening though.

But I have to break my TPM record and see it at least 9 times! :p

As far as I know, starwars.com haven't actually officially announced a New Zealand release date.

In this press release in April -

    Episode III Release Dates Announced

They said "with a near-simultaneous release around the world, on Thursday, May 19, 2005". So I think its a fair bet we'll be getting it on that date. We got Episode II on the same date as the USA opening (actually a day earlier due to the time difference).

usually a worldwide release means NZ is the first country to show the film publicly, and for us crazy Premiere people that means we'll actually see it before the US.

On the subject... I was wondering how 'Spoiler or Spoiler Free' most people are going to be.

Have noticed alot of updates on the TFN main page, am trying to resist reading anything. For Episode II i watched the trailers and read articles, but this time around i'm gonna try and stay as spoiler free as posiible.

I'm pretty blah about spoilers. Trailers I'll Download and watch cause that's just like any movie, but I doubt I'll read anything to do with plot.

I was totally spoiler free for Episode I. For AOTC, I'd read the script, which was available online months before the films release. The surprises came in the form of scenes in the script which had been left out of the movie.

I've read most of the spoilers out for III, and compared to this time relative to the release of AOTC, there was far more known about that film that is known about episode III.
