Oh, I absolutely agree. None of us want this to be the end, do we? However, perhaps there are other options - an Old Republic trilogy? Who knows.

You know it will be some variation of this. Balance of the Force would fit in with RotS and RotJ

 

Conceptually, maybe. But "The Force" was just used in EP7, so it would seem really repetitive. Also, nothing in EP 7 has hinted that the force needs to be balanced. That was already achieved by Anakin in ROTJ. "Revenge of the Sith", was stated and set up in EP 1. And the Jedi Returning or being redeemed was hinted at in EP 4. I feel like, yes, it needs to be this big SITH/JEDI/FORCE/DARKSIDE/SOMETHING but it also might be something that was already set up and perhaps literally said, in EP 7.

No more repetitive than Jedi being used in VIII after being used in VI. That's the same 2 movie spacing as VII to IX would be. And EP 7 definitely hinted that the force needs to be balanced, or did you forget LST's speech to Poe?

Fair. But I still think it's way too repetitive. And uncreative. ROTJ was 30 years ago, and in a different trilogy. There's some breathing room. Having 2 jedi titles, fine. Repetitive, but fine. Having 2 "Force" titles in one trilogy = receptive. Having 2 jedi titles, in-between 2 Force titles, even more so.

We'd go from:

Return of the Jedi.
The Force Awakens.
The Last Jedi.
Balance of the Force.

Repetitive. I'd would hope we'd get something different. There's plenty to mine in the GFFA w/o having to rely on the same titles.
