ST Episode IX's Epic Duel - Who Will It Be?

In the past two trilogies, the last chapters have featured a climactic, epic lightsaber duel that has gotten more personal each time:

Episode III: Anakin and Obi-Wan (best friends, like brothers)
Episode VI: Vader and Luke (father and son)

Who could it be in Episode IX? Maybe Rey and Kylo which would make it very personal this time if their brother and sister?

 

The best answers you're going to get are sure to be the most predictable. Brother versus sister would qualify for sure, but I'm not sure that's for the best.

 

Kirk versus Nero:

 

Rey vs Andy Serkis' character

Finn and Poe space battle.

 

Rey and Luke vs Uber and Ren - why not?

 

My guess is that its a repeat of Rey/Finn/Kylo duel. Probably with different context.

I don't think Luke gets a lightsaber fight in this trilogy. Outside chance he fights Kylo at some point(probably gets killed).

Rey vs Kylo and Uber, in an epic lightsabre battle in the fiery throne room at the industrial core of the planet Had Abaddon, whilst Finn and Poe are leading an X-Wing squadron in a space battle with the two battlestations orbiting said planet.

That'd be nice.

It's way too early to predict this when we know next to nothing about the characters. If Rey and Kylo Ren end up to be brothers and sisters, they would probably be facing off against each other (but that would be very similar to the Jaina vs. Caedus Legends story). Luke would be fighting Uber for turning his nephew/son to the dark side and this would be the Yoda/Palpatine to the Rey and Kylo Ren's Vader/Obi-Wan.

Only thing is, it seems Finn will also have Force powers so maybe he'll have some part in them or will have his big duel in Episode VIII.

 

If Rey and Kylo are siblings, the logic tells us the final duel will be between them. But there are other actors too: Finn, and to a lesser extent, Luke.

 

I think there will be 2, just like RotS.

Except this time, both sith are killed.

 

Luke vs. Uber or Ren vs. Rey

 

R2D2 vs. BB-8 (A First Order Spy all along). It's bound to happen at some point. Not all of these droids are "good guys" by design...some are alternatively programmed...

 

I'm hoping to see a fight for power between Kylo and Uber in episode 8. Kylo killing Uber and taking control of the first order. I think Luke will die in 8 also. I think the last epic Saber battle will be between Kylo Ren and Rey.

I think the real question is what are their fatalities like?
