ST Episode IX's Epic Duel - Who Will It Be?

I'd be impressed if the trilogy wrapped with something we actually haven't seen and it'd be an expansion on the potential romance plot. If Rey falls to the darkside and Finn remains with the light and they had to duel one another despite being in love it could go back to the OT idea of passionate duels. Finn trying to bring her back to the light and to him, her having to choose between allegiance with her brother and Finn.

Rey's inexperience forces Luke to do most of the work so it looks like they are losing, then Kylo switches sides.

 

Finn vs Darth Bane

 

Snoke vs everyone.

 

It has to be Rey vs Kylo.
I'm pondering where Luke and Snoke fit in, and they need to matter. Luke especially needs his Big Moment, but in the end, the final encounter has to be Rey v Kylo.

Rey can't be saved by Luke or Finn. She must win by her own abilities. No * asterix on her victory.
Kylo must lose... die? Maybe, maybe not. Redeemed? Eh. Whatever works. But defeated.

 

Rey and Kylo Ren team up to take on Snoke or the actual big bad (not yet revealed).

 

Rey and Kylo vs. Luke (and Snoke)

 

Luke Skywalker vs Ezra Bridger on Tatooine. Their futures will finally converge on a planet with two suns.

yeah, this one sounds great.

 

Luke, Rey and Kylo vs Snoke in the underground Sith temple on Coruscant while a massive battle takes place on the surface

 

I'm thinking rey and kylo again.

but what i think would be cool is there is a proper shootout. i dont mean finn and poe go after stormtroopers or that type of thing we are used to. like a proper one where it starts with an emotional verbal confrontation and then all hell breaks loose and we've got all these major characters seeking cover and exchanging fire. then from there they get seperated and lightsabers get involved.

 

The best duel will be R2D2 vs C3PO

 

I think Rey vs Kylo won't really happen until the next trilogy or at least the conclusion of it at least. Both actors are fairly young so it would make sense they are entwined past this trilogy.

 

Luke, Rey and Ben Solo vs. Snoke. Some new planet in the Unknown Regions.

The only person who can be a challenge to Rey is Rey.
The ultimate cat fight.

 

Or after the battle, the scene changes to Rey sitting there, eyes closed, alone.

It was all in her mind. A battle within herself. Something deep like that. In fact the entire Sequel Saga was the fantasy of a lost girl yearning for a family.

It was all a dream.

 

Instead of St. Elsewhere it's St. Jakku.

I wouldn't mind a two sided duel, with Luke dueling Snoke, while Rey duels Kylo Ren. Similar to ROTS, but different situation, and both of them in generally the same area, rather than across the galaxy.

 

I think it'll be Rey and Kylo again...but Kylo will win and spare Rey's life this time, thus returning the favor from the first film. This will change Ren somewhat and make him lean towards the light again. Snoke will sense this and plot to rid Kylo in the next film.

That's how I saw it too.
Something that bugs me about that scene is...Rey is only a few feet away from Kylo when he's down and she's fighting the urge to kill him....the planet begins to crumble, the planet splits into a very wide ravine, from where she was standing originally she should have been swallowed up. Pan up and she's much farther away....

 

I saw it as a big chasm appearing in between them

 

I hate to say it, but...,

That would be SO COOL.
