ST Episode VII Casting: It's Not Over Yet! Who they might be and who they might play

Most likely. They have to fill out the cast. You can't have a cast for a blockbuster with just 10 to 11 peeps.

Okay, so we are back. Morgan Freeman, Cilian Murphy, Rinko Kikuchi, Chuck Norris(hey, somebody has to play Katarn). Make it happen JJ!

 

Well if he's cast. It will be a supporting role. We already have our main cast. So maybe he will died early in the movie.

 

I'm curious about the Dev Patel rumor. Never heard his name throughout the process although he would be/have been a great addition. I wonder if there's still a chance he'll be in it as well.

Yeah I'm guessing the role is most likely the one Boyega got.

Patel is WAY too much younger than Isaac, auditioned WELL after Driver probably got his role, and could not pass for a relative of Luke or Obi-wan which is what most people assume for Gleeson.

 

I also think that it's the Boyega role, if the 5 actors were for 2 different roles, and also they were not the finalists.

 

I'm gonna say they'll have John Noble over for at least a few days worth of work. Minor/Supporting character probably, but hopefully recurring.

 

I'm betting there is another Solo kid in the supporting characters, probably doesn't play a big role. Think Ridley is the only Solo offspring that will have a leading role.

 

Or he died between 6 and 7.

 

I think that Patel tested for the role that Gleeson eventually got. I also did hear that Tom Felton went for an audition in the last few months....could be for the same role...

well....it sounds like Gleeson got the last big role available..........Boyega and Patel are not the same kind of actors............while Patel and Gleeson are....

 

I think with so many rumors of this actor and that like Plemons or Cumberbatch who supposedly talked to JJ. I think if they are not in VII does not mean they have not signed on to play a major roll in VIII or IX.

 

I think it has to do the the recentness of the casting. Gleeson was the last one cast and Patel supposedly auditioned within the past 3 weeks.

However, Gleeson looks painfully like he'd be related to either Luke or Obi Wan to have gone for the same role as Patel.

I wonder if there will be another Solo/Skywalker who dies in the first part of the film, causing a HUGE emotional "whao" in the audience and propel certain other characters to take flight into the action.

I don't think so......it sounds like Plemons was up for role that went to Gleeson......and I suspect that Cumberbatch was up for a role that was available in Ardnt draft.....

You don't think that the Cumberbatch role went to Isaac.
