There's a lot of people he doesn't speak for. I loved the PT and every movie has a sore point in it. He's probably just talking about his circle of friends. Even the OT has sore points. It's a personal preference. The PT was released with a lot of fanfare and it had to deal with a new generation of movie goers and of course the franchise's hardcore OT fans.

He still speaks for a lot of people though (myself not included, for the most part). It's widely considered to be a disappointment.

Into Darkness, maybe, but the rest (notably the Edgar Wright films) have been very well received.

Understood. I just assumed Pegg was speaking for himself, and perhaps the people he knew that were disappointed in the PT, rather than the whole fandom. But he could have chosen his words more carefully, I suppose...

Right. And to add to that, criticisms of the OT proliferate pretty widely here. So if there's to be a no PT-criticism rule, there should also be a no OT-criticism rule, a no PT-praising rule, and a no OT-praising rule.

In other words, it's a bit of a slippery slope. Which is why there should probably be no such rule at all, aside from a "no trolling" standard, with a ban on excessive and incessant PT or OT criticism.

YOU AREN'T ALLOWED TO HAVE OPINIONS ON A FORUM!

( the serious answer is it's probably not supposed to be discussed in the EPVII forum)

but to be fair.... Sometimes when talking about the new series you need to reference things you like or dislike about the old series. So I don't really like the rule. I do notice more aggression towards those who bash PT over OT.

    BIAS?

Note: OK, I don't know where you guys are claiming to see more bashing of the OT going on than the PT. The PT is pretty clearly bashed more, especially in other corners of the internet. But the main point of the rule is "No PT vs. OT". That means no bashing either way, and no battles. It's a tender subject which usually drags threads down and gets people in trouble. Furthermore, as noted above, it's generally off-topic in the ST forums. The only exception to that is when posters use examples and references from the PT or OT to illustrate their points, and they do so in a constructive, friendly manner. Furthermore, I'll just point out that these rules are not open to debate.

    So... back on topic, please.

Excellent research job! Especially interesting that they used a male stunt double in the Ireland shoot.

Based on the terrain there, it's crazy to think they wouldn't use doubles

Even if it's a shot from Rey's POV ascending the mountain and seeing Luke at the summit they have to get 'Luke' up there and it would be prudent of them to use Rhye Copeman(?) as a stand in. I think Rey's ascent will be a lot more than just walking up the mountain side, she will be running and leaping and I think that it will be filmed as if it took a long time (I think they will digitally add to the Skellig scenery to make it look more formidable).

The teaser came out over 4 months ago! We'll likely get the next teaser within a week! The 2nd Avengers movie is next month! TFA is only 250 days and change away! It was 700+ when the release date was first announced! Exciting times! :D

I'm guessing that the free running will be done by the thugs on the giant freighter. Seems to me with all those cargo containers stacked up and being hoisted around that it would be an ideal place for running'n'jumping.

Why would they need a stunt double who is both a gymnast and proficient with bladed weapons? I know this is a big production but a lower paid stand-in would suffice for a scene as you've described, and they say they spent around 6 weeks filming in both Abu Dhabi as well as Ireland.....

Not necessarily. If the location is precarious, I can easily see the stunt team being involved. Of course there may be some stunts involved also, but it could go either way.

ManaByte - does your info entail how many days Hamill or his doubles shot for? That would help clarify a lot of the debate around all this as people often bring up the number of days Hamill is believed to have filmed.
