Depends on how they're used, I like the idea of them being more gorilla like.

Yeah, could be good, but still feels a bit too slavish for me to the OT.

I think it would be cool if the
Resistance has walkers of their own, or something on the scale of these new Imperial walkers, really give us an even, large scale land battle

    Ok, let's go nuts:

If the First Order is allowed to deploy mechanised gorilla-style walkers, then the Resistance gets to deploy....

    Technically,

Every Star Wars movie with the exception of IV and I has featured walkers in it. So I am withholding ESB comparisons right now.

Hmm, 'technically', such a useful word..... You have to admit, it does seem a bit obvious as to what they're going for.

Making Star Wars has three new spoilers about TLG. On the last one in particular:

A few years ago in Insider, there was a two-part article that was the published discussion from 1976 published where Lucas, Alan Dean Foster, and a few other people were spitballing ideas for Splinter of the Mind's Eye. One of Lucas's ideas was that Luke would be a James Bond type figure in it and they would go to a space casino. This article now makes me wonder if the casino planet in TLJ is based on that old Lucas idea, since everything now has to be recycled from an unused idea or concept art from a previous movie.

I had never heard that before. It's interesting in that light that
the very first Star Wars newspaper strip storyline involved Luke and Leia going to a casino planet.

The articles in question are in Insider 145 and 146. They're worth reading. They have some really out-there ideas. Off the top of my head:

Luke would be an assassin for the Rebellion, would be in a relationship with Leia, she would die two thirds through the book, and Luke would go on an Imperial killing spree for revenge. Lucas actually kept bringing up the idea of killing off Leia. He also suggested that Leia and Chewie might be in a relationship. Alan Dean Foster had the idea that Tarkin actually survived the Death Star and could be the returning villain instead of Vader.

Well the Rebel Alliance did use walkers, clone wars era surplus vehicles. So its reasonable if the Resistance or whats left of the New Republic's military would implement walkers of some kind. The First Order suffered high loses & casualties as well, so maybe new clone troopers would be used by one or both sides.

I feel bad liking this because otherwise I think Lucas's ideas here are pretty horrible (not Foster's). Usually I skip these articles in the magazines since it seems like they're recycling the same ones for years, but these sound worth checking out. I had heard of Foster's idea before but not Lucas's. I'm glad they didn't go that route... although I can see elements taken from it.
Leia will almost certainly not be alive in Ep9. I wonder how this will affect Kylo? Unless he's responsible somehow... although I got the impression Han had given his son up for lost when Leia didn't, and Leia can use the Force so I assumed Kylo and Leia might have been closer somehow. He'd definitely know if she were to die, even if he's not there. Tantrum time?

Yeah, my first thought at that is there might have been a Leia moment or scene in Last Jedi that could have simply been pushed forward to Episode IX. God knows they have enough time to cut things out of the flick. I'm surprised they haven't gone back for TLJ reshoots yet ala Rogue One (which, in the end, seemed to turn out pretty okay), maybe in the summer.

Regardless if he's Plagueis or not, I really want this guy to have lived during Palpatine's time. Even if he's Palpatine's old college roommate, BFF, or Draco Malfoy to Palpatine's Potter. The contrast is too good to pass up. If the rumors are true, that is.

Well, he's probably tied to Palpatine's Empire in some way. Because I don't see an immortal Force Being manifested from the Dark Side like the Son being much interested in material wealth. ;)

That is a trait more common amongst warlords, corporate executives, career politicians, etc...

Huh. Yeah, if that description is true, it definitely deals a blow to the "Snoke is an Abeloth-type being" theory. Not a fatal blow, but certainly a point against.
