    Lou Chen ( Crow )

    Libria, The Wall

Silence fell inside the car as Harris a.k.a Hedgehog drove with the intent to make up for lost time. The pitter-patter of rain hitting the car was the only sound, until it was suddenly broken by the sound of the radio coming alive. The unexpected sound almost startled Lou who was keeping a cautious eye on Dan.

"Crow, come in Crow. This is grease monkey. I'm right behind you and Bushido. Looking at the map there's a point to the north of the city that isn't as guarded where we can enter the city and it'll be close to where we need to be for the smash and grab. Grease Monkey over."

"Copy that Grease Monkey." Lou said speaking casually into the radio. "Hedgehog will tail Bugatti. We'll meet you at the 'stop sign'. Crow out."

Lou put away the radio without looking. His eyes were still appraising Dan, trying to gauge him. By Dan's silence, Lou surmized that he was internalizing his feelings, or centering himself. At least that's what he was hoping for.

Suddenly, Dan looked up at Lou, who looked on expectantly.

"Lou, why..." Dan paused for a moment, obviously thinking a bit more about what he wanted to say. After a brief moment, he spoke again, "Why is it that emotion has become so esoteric, why is it the few who have it are often victimized by it..."

Lou's eyebrows shot up. He totally was not expecting that. Oh, he liked philosophical debates and such and he often had these exchanges with Sam. He had never had a single conversation with Dan, since this was his first time meeting the legendary loner. To hear him ask such a question caught him completely by surpprise, but to his credit, Lou recovered, not letting his surprise ruin the moment. A part of his mind hoped that than was not begining to think like Father and his Clerics. That would definitely be a bad sign.

"Hmm...." Lou mused, scratching his chin. "I won't insult your intelligence by giving you a lame answer. Let me get back to you on that. I think I know what you're getting at, but I have to phrase it right."

Lou reached over his chair and gave Dan an encouraging smile and a pat in the arm. He also noticed that the car was slowing down, which meant they were almost at their destination.

A momet later, Hedgehog and Bugatti, being the respective call-signs for Harris and Jim, parked in a defensive perpendicular formation. Dan was the first out of their vehicle and Beth the first out of hers. Lou was followed by Harris, and then by their designated shooter, Tom who was going by 'Silverado'. As Lou got out of the vehicle, he noticed that the rain had let up a bit, but not by much.

A portentuous feeling fell over the group as they came together. Lou glanced over at 'The Wall'. The mighty symbol of Libirian division, their 'armor' against all things emotional. Lou shook his head and held in any outward signs of condesencion. He did not like Clerics or those who lived inside Libria, but he also pittied them.

As usual, Beth was the first to speak. The sound of her voice always made Lou smile for some reason.

"OK, it looks like we're all a go. We only get one shot at this guys." Everyone nodded in agreement as Beth paused to look at the wall. She then checked her guns in their holsters before turning to Harris.

    "So uncivilized."

Lou heard Dan's comment and shot him a curious look of surprise. He totally recognized the Star Wars reference to Obi-Wan when he had killed General Grevious with a blaster instead of his lightsaber during their final confrontation in Revenge of the Sith. Lou never liked that part. He always imagined that Obi-Wan had defeated Grevious in a grand lightsber duel.....but, how did Dan know? did everyone know?

Lou just smiled and shook his head. His eyes watched Beth as she walked up to Harris.

"As for you, you stay with Lou, you understand me. I know you're bright and can handle yourself, just...." She sighed and ruffled his hair slightly, "be careful you du

They were making their way along the sewers. It was dank, wet and smelled.
"There are probably so many movie references that could be said right now." She muttered. There was probably a Star Wars one that Lou would no doubt find amusing. Beth had seen the films some time ago, borrowed them to watch for someone's birthday party. They were fun, but movies like that would never get made again.
The tunnel was long and slightly claustrophobic, but it would hopefully not be much longer until they got to their exit.
Beth swallowed, her heart pounding. Although she'd been very much about taking charge, she was terrified. She had been into the city on raids before, but this was different. This time there was so much depending on their success.
But they had a plan, they had a leader in Lou. He was doing well, despite his obvious discomfort.
"How much longer do you reckon?" She asked nobody in particular.

As they made their ways through the very dark sewers, Dan turned to adress Beth's question. "Well in a few minutes, we should get to a gap, from there I get onto ground level in the Archive Chambers basement. You guys follow these sewers for a bit longer and then we're in position" Dan explained. The sewers were barren for the most part, dark and foul, but mostly empty.

Their steps echoed lightly through the tunnels. It was silent, too silent for his liking. He begun to hum the rythm to any song he could imagine.

    Underground

Katie moved about the underground, happily exploring the area as she walked about. Walter had his head out peeking from her pack, as she now slowed down. She was in a part of the underground she had not had too much chance to explore yet. She didnt want to chance using a light.

Suddenly she heard a sound. She froze, as she squatted down in the dark, searching for the source of the noise. Someone was whistling. WHO would be whistling down here?

Curious, she began to move slowly, just a few steps, and then stop, until she picked up a source. There weas a group of people walking through here. A peek around a corner. It wasnt the police. And Definatelly not the Clerics, she realized with a sigh.

Could it be the others? The Resistance maybe? Katie's eyes shined. That ment something was about to happen. She sat perfectly still, watching the group go by her. She didnt move until they had passed her. And then slowly, she started to trail after them. Maybe they were going to a new cache of stuff. Whatever it was, it should be interesting.

Nadia nodded and stood. "I would be honoured," she said. "What is it?"

"You are to assist us in escorting a sense offender named Samuel Plymouth to the hall of judgement for inineration," he began, "I trust you have heard of him, and if you have, you understand that it is of the utmost importance that we succeed in his execution. We are leaving now, follow me."

He walked toward the exit and the other two Clerics followed him, as they arrived outside, they watched Samuel being forced into the car at the center of the three five car long escort to the Hall.

Special treatment, huh? thought Sam as he was shoved into his rolling grave. Two armored trucks with hyrdro-cannons mounted on their rooves, and three standard black coups. The size of his luxirious escort wasn't what bothered him however. That was the three clerics.

He had faith in his troops, but three clerics is suicide. They began driving towards the hall of Judgement and Sam's firey death. He knew this route, he had taken a few sense offenders down it himself when he was still a soldier of this blinded dystopia. He knew the best spot where the Nurfs would try to make their move, but so did the Clerics.

Harris was at point, gun in hand. He viewed guns similarly to the way Beth did, if he could carry it easilly and it would kill a Cleric, it was fine by him. As they reached the end of the tunnel, he motioned to everyone to be silent. He knew they weren't exactly supposed to be taking orders from him but they knew that now wasn't exactly the time to be making noises.

Slowly he climbed the ladder on the far wall of the tunner and poked his head out from the man-hole: all clear. He removed the manhole cap completely and helped the whole crew up. Across the street, he could see the auto shop Dan and Beth were talking about. He remembered the plan now...

Dan would hit the turbines as Beth attacked the convoy on a motor bike with her partner while the rest of them went after Sam.

"So..." he said to Lou, struggling to c*ck his pistol, failing to look like a badass, "I guess this is it."

Dan turned to the group, "Okay, I'll be off wait for my signal" he said as he scurried up the ladder and off to the side. He eventually foundhimself in a small alley where a hatch lead to the archive chamber's basement. Mintues later he was in, he was surrounded by files. Cabinet after cabinet, of course even their trash is so emotionless. He found his way up to the service lift. It would take him halfway up the building completely unnoticed. He pulled up the door and crouched in. He gently pushed the button and ascended. Suddenly the lift stopped about a third of the way up. The doors flew he knew the first thing he saw would be an enemy. SO the second the door opened he pulled his sword out and jabbed it forward out of the lift.

He looked and his sword was in the chest of a soldeir. He kicked the soldeir off his blade and then rolled out. As he rolled his sliced the ankles of the four gaurds that stood to his left. He came up and into an offensince stance. The remaing gaurds were sword weilding, the kinda he enjoyed fighting. As they came at him, in classic Bushido form his parried, dispelled, and countered in his kurt movements. The art of bushido is not the long drawn out swords fights you see in movies. It's meant to do just what he was doing, cut down the opponent and get you to the next. It handle a literally countless set of attacks. The form worked from any angle.

Each that came at him was slain. Their white uniforms now stained with red. He then made a break as he threw the corpse of the soldeir he'd just stabbed as a distraction. It sailed and landed into the path of the gaurds. Fumbling over it, he made a break for the door at the end. His main concern is that he's made this exact infiltration twelve times and that he never was caught. And suddenly the lift was stopped.

Reachign the door he used a new form of martial arts to avoid the fact he didn't have a key. Savate, he plowed a kick right intot he doors weak point and it buckled. HE ran ahead to the stairs he could easily get to the elevatore but if they trapped him in there he was done for.

    Outside the Hall of Clerics

Kevin Rose stood stiffly beside his fellow Clerics, Louis and Nadia, as they watched the notorious sense offender Samuel Plymouth being shoved into the car that would bring him to his end. It almost gave Kevin a sense of gratification as he looked on, watching the enforcers of Libria destroy those who would dare defy their laws, and any allied with them.

The Cleric noticed the motorcycle that was prepared for him that would carry him as he escorted the convoy to the Hall of Judgement, and mounted it, ready and able to carry out the orders that he had been given.

Lou Chen & Nurf Rescue Team

    Inside Libria

Lou had no chance to look for any interesting graffitti writtings or tags as they traversed the sewer tunnels, it was too dark anyway and not that this was a great place to look for such things. This place was a general offense to the senses no matter how you summed it up. Fortunately their time in the sewers was brief.

Lou was somwhat surprised and at the same time proud of Harris as the young Nurf took point and led them to the exit. Before they knew it, they had gone up the man-hole and were back out on this surface, however, this time they were inside Libria; within enemy territory.

The only good thing about it was that the rain was letting up.

Wasting not a moment, Lou began doing a head count when he saw Harris make a noticeably bad impression of a Gunslinger. " I guess this is it ." Lou nodded and smiled encouragenly as he withheld a humorous chuckle. "Relax. You'll do fine..." He said, patting him on the shoulder. Lou didn't shake his head at seeing someone so young holding a gun. He understood that they were instruments for their survival, but even still, he did not like them.

Before Lou could finish his head count, Dan was already moving away from the group.

"Okay, I'll be off. Wait for my signal"

Lou didn't even get a chance to protest before Dan disappeared. Alone. Lou shook his head, then shrugged it off. He'd better have a radio on him, he thought as he contained his displeasure, then went back to finishing his head count.

Beth, Jim, Harris, crossbow, Skeet. They were all present. Dan had just left.

'Where's Tom?" Lou asked, already walking over to look down the man-hole. As he did, he could see Tom standing by the ladder. He was facing into the sewers.

"Tom? what's the hold up?" Lou spoke the words without sounding at all like he felt. Annoyed. Time was of the essence.

At the bottom of the ladder, Tom held up a hand to Lou asking him to wait. Then he called out into the darkness.

"Is someone there? Hello? I heard your footsteps just now. Come out, come out."

Tom did not mention his I.R. goggles. He moved his head to get a better heat signature, but there was not alot of temperature differential down here in the sewers, not to mention that just to be sure, he held his rifle at the ready.

to an area where there was a ladder, she saw a shadow.

Katie froze, daring to not even breath heard, as she scooted down slowly. She didnt stick her head back around, but she listened intently. There were two voices.

"Tom? what's the hold up?" the first voice spoke. Another voice answered. And what it said shocked her.

"Is someone there? Hello? I heard your footsteps just now. Come out, come out."

Katie didnt move, as she pushed herself against the wall. She could feel her heartrate speed up, as she sqatted behind the wall, not moving.

While she didnt mind helping the resistance, she usually did things anonomously, droping off clues and other helpful ideals. But these guys were packing some serious heat. It ment something dangerious was going on. She wasnt sure if she wanted to get invoved with that. But she could tag along, and see what happens.

Katie didnt move again, until she was sure that the group had started moving once more.

Beth turned when she heard the footsteps. What were the chances of soldiers being down here?
It was unlikely, but she didn't like it.
"I think we should move" she said to Lou, trying to keep the frightened edge out of her voice.
She moved more towards where the footsteps had been coming from. She didn't draw her gun, but she had a hand on it.
She looked around slowly, not seeing anything suspicious. She turned back to Lou and the others.
"I think whoever is there, really doesn't want to be found. There are underground rebels who don't like to get involved. I think we should leave them be, give them a bit of peace."
She made her way up and into the city. It was deserted, thank goodness.
Reaching in, Beth helped others get out. She stood then and looked around.
"Coast is clear, but I don't like it. Should we get into position?" She directed the last part to Lou.

    Archives Chamber

He ran throught the great halls sprinted. He would need to make it to the floor three floors above him. As he ran two guards had come out from two doors on each side of the hall as he passed. He instantly reached into his sleeve and threw two small objects that lodged in the gaurds throats before they thought to shoot. In their necks each was throwing knife. When Dan told people he emulated old Eastern fighting styles he meant it.

He finally reached the stairs. Locking the door behind him he began to ascend. He pulled his radio out, "This is Bushido to Crow and Greese moneky, and the other kid...I'll be in position in about fifteen minutes so get into positions" he shouted into the radio. Three floors up he stopped at the entrance into the hall he needed to get to. Through the large T shaped window in the door he could see more gaurds than even he could take. There were probablly fifty at least, he need to get into the hall in order to make it to the Libria control center, once again he was going to use the ancient tactics of deception. He pulled a small cylinder like canister he press down on a small tab. Broke the glass on the window and heaved it into the center of the gaurds. It rolled along the floor stopping at the foot of a soldeir. "****" he screamed instead of exploding into flames, it burst and began to spew a smoke screan.

He then open the door and managed to evade he sight of the soldeirs. As he slowly passed through he could hear the gaurds, "Whats going on" said one. "Where is he, should we shoot" he then allowed the cover of stealth to be broken. Tapping his foot the gaurds suddenly became alert, "There shoot, shoot" one screamed. He then sprinted out of the way as the gaurds all began to fire. Scream after scream was let out from the smoke. Not waiting around to see the results he continued to where the smoke ended close enough to the Control Center.

    Inside Libria

"Let's go Tom, we don't have time to chase ghosts." Lou called down to Tom after agreeing with Beth's assessment of the situation. Whoever it was, if anyone at all, did not want to be found. If it were an 'enemy' they would have engaged Tom already.

Lou reached down with a hand and helped the shooter up and onto the streets.

"Sorry Lou, coulda sworn I heard footsteps." the shooter said by way of apology.

"Probably just and echo or as Beth said, someone who'd rather not get involved. s'all good my friend. Let's go." Lou's response seemed to put the man at ease.

As the rescue team finally came together, Tom and Crossbow replaced the man-hole cover, but only three-quarters of the way. They might need to return here and make a quick exit.

"Coast is clear, but I don't like it. Should we get into position?" came Beth's wise suggestion.

Lou nodded and was about to speak when the radio went off.

["This is Bushido to Crow and Grease moneky, and the other kid...I'll be in position in about fifteen minutes so get into positions."]

Smiling, Lou shook his head and mouthed the word 'Hedgehog', then chuckled. Well, at least Bushido was in position, which meant there was no going back now, for anyone.

"Alright team, you heard the man. We're on in fifteen. Jim and 'Grease monkey' find the vehicular distraction you mentioned, remember that timing will be everything. Tom, Crossbow and Skeet, get to the roofs and keep us covered. Make sure to take note of ALL entry and exit points, even the unlikely ones. 'Hedgehog', you'll be on the ground providing me with fire cover. Once a path is cleared, we'll grab Sam and make it back here. This man-hole is our exit back to our vehicles and our Freedom. Failing that, we scatter and hideout, then try to make our way to the nethers inside of three days."

Lou gave a strong final nod of encouragement.

    "For Sam and for Freedom!"

And then, they were off to their positions. The countdown to free Sam had already begun.

Coming to the large doors that came between him and the Control Center, he then pulled a key card out of his pocket. He'd stolen it on his first time infiltrating the Archives Chamber. He swiped the card, the compressors left out a breif gust and the doors slid into the walls. He slowly walked through and close the doors behind him.

He found his way to the main computer, its sad how easy breaking into libria could be. Entering passwords and over writing firewalls. He found his way into the power grid first. He then pulled up the Turbine controls. He then transmitted, "Crow, I'm ready when you are."

    Underground

Katie heard them softly talking for a few moments. After awhile, once finally called out for his friend to hurry up and follow the others.

Kat sighed in relief. She needed to be a bit more careful next time. What if they had been CLERICS!!! Kat's heart was beating wildly, as she heard them start moving once more. She heard them go up the ladder. She peeked around the corner and looked out when she heard a manhole cover move. She waited a few seconds, and then sprinted over towards the ladder. They went outside into the CITY! Something major WAS going on. She didnt hear anything but muffled sounds, so she quickly climbed the ladder, to get close to the manhole cover. She heard a voice speak up..

" ... find the vehicular distraction you mentioned, remember that timing will be everything. Tom, Crossbow and Skeet, get to the roofs and keep us covered. Make sure to take note of ALL entry and exit points, even the unlikely ones. 'Hedgehog', you'll be on the ground providing me with fire cover. Failing that, we scatter and hideout, then try to make our way to the nethers inside of three days." There was a pause, and then she heard. "For Sam and for Freedom!"

Katie nearly fell off the ladder. They were on a rescue?! The only people she could think they would try to rescue anyone from would be soldiers and Clerics! No way she was going to follow them up there. But from the way things sounded, they would be heading back...THIS WAY! If they screwed up, and they bad ones ended up down here, they would need to be warned. Katie could do that. Katie reached into her bad, as Walter stuck his head out to look around. She pushed his head back into the bag, as she pulled up a small set of mirrors. She pushed one just barely up through the opening they had left behind, and began to watch the area, At least the street was deserted at the moment.

When things got nasty...no if's about it...she would head for her secondary hidey hole. She had an idea the place would be swarmed. Did those guys know the area in the dark? She sure hopped so. She hopped back down the ladder for a moment, and walked over to a set of pipes. They were water mains, but more importantly, they were 'watched' so to speak. Katie tapped out a message on the pipes. It would reverb further down the line, warning the Underground that trouble might be coming.

That done, she shimmied back up the ladder, and began to watch what was going on from under the street, with her tiny periscope type device. Katie put on one glove as she began to listen for sounds.

Beth nodded, then signalled to Jim.
    "Let's go."
Weaving their way through the streets they avoided any people. In record time the two reached the garage. It was a low building, as bleak as anything in the city. The two of them crouched in an alley.
    "Round the back" Beth whispered.
They darted from their hiding spot and made it to the base of the building. There was a large air duct above their heads. Beth poipnted upwards and Jim nodded, getting her meaning. Standing on his shoulders She carefully removed the panel, crawled in and signalled to Jim to wait.
Crawling along Beth made her way in. The garage was all one room, with the cars and bikes laid out neatly. It was the most organised workshop Beth had ever seen, and it made her shiver at the creepiness of it all.
Surveying the scene Beth calculated that there were three mechanics. Unarmed with two next to her hiding spot on the walkway above the main workshop area and one working on a car. Beth nodded in thought. Things were looking good. Slipping out she allowed the cover to clatter to the ground. The two near her turned sharply and one was rewarder with a sharp roundhouse kick to the side, falling promptly off the walkway and onto the floor with a slight thud. He'd be unconcious, but not dead.
The second had taken a wrench out of his overalls and came running at Beth. She grabbed his wrist, ducked and threw him over the side of the walkway. He had dropped the wrench and Beth picked it up.
The last one had seen everything and was now running for the door. Beth threw the wrench, hitting him in the back. He fell to the ground in pain, giving Beth some time to run down the staircase. She grabbed the nearest object, a metel chair that was next to the main business desk and hit the mechanic with it. He fell and Beth dragged him over to the other two. Searching thei pockets she found the key to the back door, she opened it and let Jim in.
"You took your time." He remarked.
"I can hurt you." Beth retorted, raising the radio.
    "Grease Monkey in position."

    Outside the Hall of Clerics

Escort duty was an ordinary first mission for a Cleric - but there was nothing ordinary about this. Resistance was expected, so three Clerics were assigned to take Sam Plymouth to the Hall of Judgement for his execution. Nadia followed Cleric Smith outside as Plymouth was being forced into a car. Her eyes took in the rest of the security detail: two armoured trucks armed with hydro-cannons, plenty of soldiers, and two motorbikes for her and Cleric Rose.

Without waiting to be told, Nadia claimed one of the motorbikes and started it up. One last check of her weapons - the standard issue pair of automatic pistols, one on each forearm - and she was good to go. Now all there was left was to wait for the Nurfs to show up.

So they could crush the Resistance once and for all.
