Femme and I found a couple hardcover SW novels we don't want anymore.
Children of the Jedi - Barbara Hambly
The New Rebellion - Kristine Kathryn Rusch
    Darksaber - KJA

We also have some SW Insiders from days of old. #56, #60, #63.

I'll bring em to Beer Club. If you want em they're yours for a beer.

Well, it was GREAT to see many friends,

One day I will have read the book,
    and
    then
we will all be glad to be sitting down
    at least I know I will[face_laugh]

It is a blessing to be amoung Star Wars fans,
    who understand and are understanding,
even though there were some pronouncing concerns[face_whistling]

Anyway, a fun time to get re-aquainted and meet knew people:)
(see group photo____to be posted by someone soon I hope)

and with that in mind, let me see how much I remember,

There were 11 in attendance, and we were
    under the guidance of

    Lt_Dak-Ferris, for the most part,

    other included,

    JodoKast74
    Kosure
    vinylcapedjawa
    Rogue4809
    JediAutobot
    Hawk-Bat
    ThomSolo
    Anglus_Kalen
    MusicTrooper
    and

One other whom I can not seem to find on these boards,
but they took the group photo picture, so there's that:)

An outsider tried to join in, but lost interest
when we pointed out that Star Wars was our focus.

8 of us went to the Hoth Bean area
    and looked at ICE,
and then went to the skating area to look
    for other CF-ers,
    and then had lunch.

Others went on to skate, but my time was up and
    I had to depart:_| .

    Looking forward to next time!

    Ed

I promise I am still a member of book club and I'm targeting my return for March!

I really miss hanging out with everyone.

By the way Revelation came out today!

What's the book for March? It's not listed on the CF.org calendar.

Thanks, Mark! I totally should have looked there first.

So, I have decided to embark on the epic quest of reading all of the Legacy of the Force books in the next few weeks. And then I actually plan on showing up and *gasp* participating in the book discussion.

Woooo, I have a lot of reading ahead of me.

I'm 3/4 of the way through "Revelation". OMG this series rocks (minus "Exile") and this book is at the top of my faves. Man, I cannot wait to discuss this one.

Hey everyone. Laura's giving me a ride to book club, but has to leave after. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to give me a ride to bowling, and maybe to a train afterwards. Let me know.

I can give you a ride to bowling. By train do you mean the blue line? It'll be backtracking for me, but I can give you a ride there for sure. I hope this would work for MER too.

I haven't read the X-Wing novels, but I want to read the comics too. I'm wondering if anyone's read both and has an opinion on which to do first.

The comics for the most part take place before the books but then some others take place around the same time. It is your call but I started with the books first.

I was sitting having lunch part 2 in Qdoba on Washington and Wabash when I saw Carrie, Thom Solo and Phil walking east. I jumped out to say say hi. Phil said they were heading to Bennigans for the Book Club meeting. I see that the next meeting is in Oak Brook when is the next city based meeting and what is the the book going to be.
    I want to attend.

Actually, the next meeting is on May 31 at the Barnes & Nobles in Schaumburg. The book is Legacy of the Force: Revelation by Karen Traviss, the 8th of a 9-book series. (The May 14 book signing is a special event.) We're pretty good at arranging rides, so perhaps something could be worked out. We alternate between city and suburbs, so June will be at the Borders on State Street. The book will be Legacy of the Force: Invincible by Troy Denning, the conclusion of the series. Normally, it'd be on June 28, but we may move it to June 21 to accommodate those attending Wizard World Chicago.
