I'm working on a fan-fiction related GODV project, and I wanted to assign territories to the Grand Moffs of the Central Committee, based on a theory I have that planets suggested as new Imperial bases in GODV are in regions under the control of the Grand Moffs who suggest them. I believe it will be possible to determine priority and oversectors belonging to the Moffs based on this evidence. Since I'm not an expert on Imperial cartography, I'd appreciate suggestions and comment from those who are. (C'mon, I know you're out there! :) )

Bertroff Hissa: controls Kessel, suggests Hoth.
    Dunhausen: suggests Tatooine
    Thistleborn: suggests Bespin

There is also Grand Moff Muzzer, who doesn't give any suggestions. I'm considering giving him control of the Bright Jewel Oversector, since it seems likely that the Grand Moff formerly in charge of the region was removed from power after an attempt to kill Vader.

Suggestions, comments, wild theories, all are welcome!

Kessel to Hoth is a rather large area of space, perhaps Hissa was in charge of an oversector or two?

The GoDV series exists in a wormhole universe with Crystal Star . It's like SW EU crossed with the Star Trek mirror universe. It doesn't really exist. But it does.

It does exist. As much as Planet of Twilight, The Bounty Hunter Wars, or anything else.

    You forgot Moff Panaka.

Whoa. I never liked that guy, anyway. Heh.

If this Moff Panaka is indeed the Captain Panaka from Episode I this is a great wink. Moff of Naboo Sector, perhaps? Good stuff.

Here's a rough draft of what I have for a few of the Moffs. Opinions, comments, etc are welcome...

    Grand Moff Dunhausen

Formerly the Moff of a few minor planets in the Gordian Reach, Dunhausen was suddenly promoted to Grand Moff after Grand Moff Vellam was convicted of high treason. Dunhausen ruled Vellam?s former territory, the Bright Jewel Oversector, jointly with Grand Moff Nivers. After the Battle of Endor, Nivers was captured by the New Republic on Tandankin, and Dunhausen was left to rule the entire region. unexpectedly gained even more territory when the remainder of Oversector Outer was divided up amongst himself and Hissa. Dunhausen now also controls a portion of the Javin sector and most of the Arkanis sector. He suggested Tatooine as a site for a new Imperial base.
Dunhausen was lean and very crafty?and also had a bizarre fashion sense. In spite of being quite conservative in dress and manner, Dunhausen favored a pair of blaster-shaped earrings. He was never seen without them, and one of the many explanations suggested for this apparent contradiction in behavior was that the ornaments were in fact functional hold-out blasters, though this was never confirmed and was dismissed by SPIN as ludicrous. Years later, however, Wraith Squadron would try just such a trick on Kabray.

    Grand Moff Muzzer

Though outwardly brash and excitable, Muzzer was a coward at heart. During the tumultuous months after the Battle of Endor, he was only able to remain in control of his territories in the Inner Rim by making a deal with a devil: a mysterious figure who called himself Lord Shadowspawn. The shadowy being quieted rebellious elements in Muzzer?s sectors and allowed him to rule unquestioned?for a price. The superstitious Muzzer promised his soul to Shadowspawn, and even had a contract drawn up, one of the more curious items to end up in the Republic Historical Documents Repository. Muzzer was ultimately executed by order of Ysanne Isard; whether or not Shadowspawn collected his fee is unknown. The mysterious Lord did take over Muzzer?s territory after his death, and remained entrenched until ousted by Luke Skywalker.

There's also Grand Moff Wilkadon, mentioned in Tatooine Ghost? Did Wraith Squadron succeed in their mission to capture him?

Tavira isn't a Grand Moff, was she even a moff at all?

And where does this word moff come from?

Yeah, Tavira inherited the title of Moff from her late husband. She didn't get along with Isard all that well, either.

    Grand Moff Bertroff Hissa

Bertroff Hissa was raised on the prison world of Kessel, the son of a foreman in the mines. Hissa was cleaver and power-hungry. A mid-level prison official when the Empire took over Kessel?s prisons and spice mines, Hissa was a driving force in introducing slave labor to the Kessel workforce. Hissa became one of the first slavelords, and wished to extend his power far beyond Kessel. He knew that his mixed human/alien heritage would work against him in the anti-alien Empire, so he used assassination to further his rise to power. Hissa was careful to avoid public figures whose deaths would surely be avenged, but arranged for a series of ?mining accidents?, causing the death of minor Imperial officials, whose places he took. Within five years, Hissa was second-in-command of Kessel?s anti-smuggler fleet under Colonel Quirt. His successes in combating smugglers and pirates helped to earn him recognition and respect in the Empire. He became a personal friend and correspondent of Moff Quorl Matrin, and helped Grand Moff Tarkin to locate Seswenna scientist Renn Volz, who had adopted Kessel as his homeworld. This earned him the rank of Moff, and Hissa became the ruler of Kessel. In this position he worked endlessly to prove himself loyal to the Empire, and for this reason he was promoted to Grand Moff by Emperor Palpatine following Trachta?s failed coup. Palpatine didn?t entirely trust Hissa, however, and limited his power. Although the alien Moff now controlled several of Kessel?s neighboring sectors, he was subordinate to Ardus Kaine, who took over control of Oversector Outer after Tarkin died at Yavin. Hissa had hoped to be the one to take Tarkin?s place.
Hissa had little time to devote to musing on his disappointment, however. Shortly after the Battle of Yavin, Moruth Doole staged a prison revolt in the Imperial Correctional Facility. Doole took over the prison and began eliminating slave lords. Hissa, well protected in Kessendra City, did nothing to stop Doole. In fact, the Grand Moff had an understanding with the Doole?Hissa hoped to use the revolt in order to gain more resources for his Oversector. In hopes of achieving the same ends, he also covertly aided several slaves who had affiliated themselves with the Rebel Alliance, leading to a bloody series of slave rebellions. Hissa managed to rally support for his campaigns against the rebels on Kessel, including Darth Vader?s lackey Bzorn, who died attempting to quash the rebels. When Hissa finally unleashed his protégée Trioculus, who quickly and effectively decimated the rebellious slaves (thanks to information provided by Hissa), the Grand Moff?s popularity skyrocketed, and even the other Grand Moffs looked to him for leadership after the Emperor?s death at Endor.
When Grand Moff Kaine broke off from the Empire proper to form the Pentastar Alignment, the remainders of his holdings in the Outer Rim were seized by the Central Committee, and Hissa was given control of several sectors beyond his previous sphere of influence, including portions of the Javin and Seswenna sectors. Hissa served Trioculus faithfully until the Prophets of the Dark Side revealed their knowledge of Hissa?s assassinations and negligence on Kessel. If such information ever reached Ysanne Isard or any of the other Grand Moffs, Hissa would suffer a long and painful execution.
