Are there any EU authors who you miss? I miss Tom Veitch, who put so much effort into creating a history for the GFFA.

This may not be the most popular opinion, but I care not. I miss Karen Traviss. ;)

Aaron Allston, obviously. But Michael Stackpole, too. He's not as popular as his co-X-wing author was, but I really would've liked to see him sink his teeth into the prequel era with his favorite line of characters - Nejaa Halcyon in the Clone Wars, Hal Horn in the Imperial era, Rostek Horn and Ylenic It'kla in both eras. (I understand he did one short story involving Nejaa and Ylenic, still need to track that one down).

People I wish had done more

    Aaron Allston, obviously :(

MIchael P. Kube-McDowell - I really really loved the Black Fleet Crisis (which I think makes me unique on this board?), and would have loved to see more done in this style. He got how to write a book set in this universe - it was the right level of realism and complexity.

Actually the Black Fleet Crisis is pretty popular - for its fleet battles at least. Some people like the Leia arc (showing that she's not infallible) and some like the Lando arc (showing Mysterious Alien Stuff in a similar vein to the old Lando trilogy). I haven't seen many people say they liked the Luke arc though.

I'd like to see Sean Stewart make a return, at least.

Yeah, the Luke arc is usually what most people have a problem with, myself included, though I am still a fan of the trilogy, to the point it is the only thing that I like as much of Zahn, Stackpole, and Allston during the Bantam run.

One the subject of authors, I miss A.C. Crispin, Aaron Allston, and Michael A. Stackpole, and many of the others people have mentioned, including Michael P. Kube-McDowell, Greg Keyes, and James Kahn.

I kinda miss Hambly - the writing style was an interesting change of pace from most of the books.

I'm really glad I'm not the only one who misses Traviss.

Allston and Stackpole, and even Kevin J. Anderson. It would have been interesting to see what he would have done with Jacen.

KJA would probably reveal that Jacen was possessed by Abeloth.

And I do miss KJA's take on the Old Republic era.

It'd be more believable than the FOTJ series….

I want Matthew Stover to write more Star Wars! He hasn't written any Star Wars Novels since LSatSoM back in 2008 and that Darth Tenebrous story back in 2011. Of course the release of Caine's Law made up for his recent lack of Star Wars output, as The Acts of Caine happens to be my favorite fantasy series of all time. More work by Sean Stewart and Greg Keyes would also be awesome.

Allston and Stackpole. I'm going to be really unpopular for this, but Troy Denning as well. I really liked his writing.

I really miss Stackpole. The X-Wing series was fantastic and I love I, Jedi. Of course I will miss Allston and his stories. Wraith Squadron was what introduced me to Star Wars EU and will remain one of my all time favorite books. Also I could use some more Zahn. Maybe we'll get lucky and Lucasfilm will let him write some new books and he'll reintroduce Thrawn and Mara to the official canon.

Kevin J Anderson. I started reading the YJK first, and that was what got me into Star Wars and reading just before I entered middle school.
    Aaron Allston, of course.
    Timothy Zahn, of course.
Matthew Stover. Wish they would bring that guy back.

And Troy Denning. There, I said it. I AM A DENNING FAN.

Michael A. Stackpole and his collaborations with Timothy Zahn.
Also Steve Perry, his work on Shadows of the Empire was great.
