    Welcome to the new EU discussion thread! This is the place to talk about any and all SW novels, comics, and e-books.

    I will try to post upcoming releases on a regular basis. Generally, new novels hit the shelves on the first Tuesday of the month.

    The Reading Room threads will remain as a separate area to discuss one particular book at a time.

    :)

    There's a thread over in Lit about the Shatterpoint intro by GL here. (Did you really type that whole thing, Rhonda? :eek:)

    Be sure to check out page 2 of the thread where Matthew Stover (the author) himself shows up. ;) (I knew I liked him for a reason. [face_mischief] [face_laugh])

    Stover is an EU god as far as I'm concerned. I had a geekgasm when I heard he was doing the Episode III novelization. Hell, I was hoping he was ghostwriting the script!!!

    And, hey... Any author who can make me forget that Mace runs like a flippin schoolgirl in Episode II is pure genius in my book.

    There is a new animated Clone Wars comic coming out this summer from Dark Horse Comics. I believe an issue will be available for free on July 3rd for Free Comic Book Day . Just go to your local comic shop and pick up one. There's a ton of titles that will be available that day, including Teen Titans and some from Disney. I know Comics and Collectibles will be doing this, and I believe Triple Play will as well.

    Oh, the new Spiderman movie will be out that weekend!

    And here's the cover for Medstar I: Battle Surgeons

    [image=http://www.starwars.com/eu/news/2003/12/img/20031216_bg.jpg]

    I can see that as an alternative Barriss outfit for the summer months when that dang cloak gets hot, LOL.

    I'll have to read those just because Steve Perry is an author. <thumbs_up> :)

    There's a new book coming out in September called Panel to Panel Star Wars. It will have some good Dark Horse art!

    [image=http://cargobay.starwars.com/books/fiction/approachingstorm/cestusdeception.jpg]

    From the OS . . .This June, the saga of the Clone Wars continues with the release of The Cestus Deception, a hardcover novel by award-winning author Steven Barnes. From that story comes the tie-in eBook,The Hive. On the factory world of Ord Cestus, the native X'Ting have one hope for future solidarity and self-rule: locating and hatching the only remaining egg of the royal family. But few know the secrets of the egg's hiding place, and fewer still have the skills to pass the deadly gauntlet and open the impossible vault that protects the egg. And so Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi agrees to help them.

    Also for anyone wanting to know how the events from pre-AOTC through the Clone Wars, The 2nd Quest has put together a really detailed Clone Wars timeline with Comics, Novels and stories.

    Oh me, oh my! I had a geekgasm just looking at the Empire #19 artwork of Vader. If that was my response, we might as well have a towel ready for Rhonda.

    That reminds me- I need to tell COmics and Collectibles to put that on hold for me while I'm out of town! Heck, if the art's looking that good I may just go ahead and put it on my subscritpion list there.

    BTW- there are some cool desktops and stuffs to download at Dark Horse's website.

    I'm a complete comics retard, but I'll be buying that issue of Empire.

    Haven't bought Tales in a while, either. I like it because it has a bunch of different, and somewhat offbeat, stories.

    [face_laugh] This was posted on a thread in 3SA about a Lord Tion in the Radio Plays...

    The Radio plays were by Brian Daley. A sort of early EU.

    No, the green space rabbit was a very early Marvel comic character called Jaxxon. An unholy cross of Bugs Bunny and Jar Jar Binks, who hung out with a woman in a bikini. I kid you not.

    //reads what he just wrote

    Why the **** do I know stuff like this?!?
