Yeah, its been really quiet. I have my avatar ready for New Years! We're having a 'Gath' (this is teen talk I'm told for gathering") but only about 8-10 people....with kids so not a full on party...

It's more than will be going on at my house. I plan to be in bed at 10. But I make those plans every night and it's not every night that my family cooperates [face_plain]

Yea! Then we could visit! And I could cater your party. Of course if I visited other places I may never come back here [face_plain]

If money were not a factor I would travel all the time! Or at least until I got tired of it :p

Money and the travel time.....the 14 hour flight from Sydney to LA was draining, exhausting and very emotional. My daughter had a bit of a break down half way across and we had to give her one of her fathers valiums and they put her in the First Class area on a bed for a while as she was at the back of the plane asking to get off (beside the doors!) Yeah, that wasn't going to work!

I don't know how I would handle a flight like that. I am not good at sitting for very long periods of time. It's a 37 minute flight from DC to Newark and then a quick bus ride into the city, that's my kind of flight :)

Yeah, the flight from New York to DC was good, from Vegas to Honolulu, not so pretty. And crazier was the flight from Orlando to Vegas, that went via San Diego!!!

I have not been on many flights. So luckily never any serious troubles, never been re-routed. I actually have a short list of places I want to travel, things I want to do. Most of it right here in the USA.

I want to see Europe, my daughter is showing much more courage and determination than I ever did, not to mention drive and strength. She's booked a 24 day 13 country tour of Europe only a month after her 18th birthday. She wants to see Europe and has booked one of those 18 - 30 trip where everyone is in that age group. She's going alone and she's paying for it herself. We gave her $150 for Christmas, its all she wanted to help pay for it. She's nearly got the tour paid for, then she starts saving for the airfares and spending. Most the kids here go on what they call 'Schoolies' weekend after year 12 (I suspect it's Spring Break for you) but she said, 'Thats a waste of time and money mum, I want more'. Can't fault her for this at all.
