The Three Pillars of the Jedi Order were the foundations of the Order that all Jedi were required to live by. Mace Windu had the following to say:
"Jedi do not fight for peace. That's only a slogan, and is as misleading as slogans always are. Jedi fight for civilization, because only civilization creates peace. We fight for justice because justice is the fundamental bedrock of civilization: an unjust civilization is built upon sand. It does not long survive a storm."

The three tenets were Force, Knowledge, and Self-Discipline. A Jedi was required to embrace this code into their service and were reminded of them upon entering the Temple, where they were inscribed above the main entrance.

The First Pillar, Force, represented the constant balance between all things in the galaxy. Because of the relationship of midi-chlorians and the Jedi, one must constantly immerse themselves into the Force and follow the will of it. There are two main schools of thought on the relationship of the Force and the galaxy: The Unifying Force and The Living Force.

The Second Pillar of the Jedi was Knowledge. This meant the Jedi must constantly engage in learning as much as possible to understand the workings of the galaxy. An uniformed Jedi could hardly be prepared to fight for unifying peace. Intense study and a quest for wisdom was a task never truly completed. In this case, a Jedi would never “know too much”, but continue to grow as a member of the galaxy. To aid in this life-long quest, the Jedi Order had an immense library and archive system.

The Third Pillar was Self-Discipline. The natural order of the Jedi entailed both the First and Second Pillar must be mastered by a Jedi before combat and physical training were engaged. This is because self-discipline is vitally essential to master physical and advanced mental training. Without self-discipline, one could not truly achieve what it means to be a Jedi.

 

Now I think both lines should make it in
