Hello Joe and welcome! If you want to just hang out and talk about the jedi then feel free to come and go as you please. The other option is to adapt the full aspect of this club, which is to role play as a Jedi. In order to do that, one rises through the ranks, starting as an initiate and going on towards becoming a Master. If you wish to do this, then for the first two weeks you will be considered an initiate. You will be expected to post consistently and not have any long absences (unless you let either myself or CPL_Macja know). After a period of two weeks, during which you have been posting here consistently, you will be assigned a Master who will teach you the ways of the force and prepare you for the trials, after the completion of which you will be a Knight. Please, as I suggested, read the first post. It'll give you a good idea as to how to proceed. Most of all, have fun.
Excellent book, Joe! Should you decide to go for Knighthood, it's got all the information you will need -- as well as the marginal notes being quite amusing!
One question - what is the time period for this Jedi Order? And I've got Lightsaber Construction down. I spent hours pouring over those diagrams of the saber.
Well, Joe, now there's a good question. The current role playing game that the order is participating in is called 'Shadow Wars.' It is set in the year 146ABY. On the offsite, however, it's a little before that (I don't know when offhand). Note however that the offsite rpg is not active at the moment. Also, the rpg on the offsite is the only place where the date is different. Everywhere else we play it as though it is the year 146ABY, same as the role playing game, Shadow Wars.
Our own role playing games are not in any way influenced by the new movies coming out. Don't worry about it.
That's unfortunate. So, I've pulled out my copy of The Jedi Path and have it in front of me. Is anyone else having issues with Chapter II?
Oh and Joe? One small but important point of interest. No one here is permitted to try to join under a sock. A sock is a second user account. Joining this group under a sock for any reason is not allowed. I forgot to say this in my big spiel so I'm saying it now.
We simply don't know at the moment -- not knowing when Ep 7 will be set; current thinking is around 45 to 50 ABY. And then there's anything Ep 7 does to the timeline to be considered. Still, the Force has a way of correcting the flow of events!
