Joe, for your first initiate task, I would like you to put your reasons for wanting to be a jedi into a paragraph-long description. (Sounds like you need something to do)
I'm not a skilled writer, so this probably is going to be absolute crap. However, I will certainly try to distill my complicated feelings about the Jedi Order into words. Why do I want to be a Jedi? To truly understand this question, we must ask ourselves another one - what exactly is a Jedi? If you check Wookiepedia, it will tell you a Jedi is a member of the Jedi Order who uses the Force to spread peace throughout the galaxy. But think deeper. A Jedi has a focused mind. A Jedi has a strong intellect and a strong body. A Jedi is calm. A Jedi is brave. These are all qualities which come from being a Jedi not because of the title, but because of the training to become a Jedi. By using intense training, a person is sharpened until they have the qualities of a Jedi. I want to obtain these qualities. I know it won't be easy, but I am willing to train day and night to better myself, until I am good enough to be a Jedi. Furthermore, I feel that becoming a Jedi will help me repay the community and help the greater good. Ever since I helped organize the school service club as a Freshman, I have worked to perform community service. At every turn, I have worked to locate other avenues to aid the community - be it a local soup kitchen looking for help, or a school tech department in desperate need of a qualified slicer. I feel becoming a Jedi is the next big step in my journey. Any member of the Jedi - even a member of the AgriCorps - works to better the galaxy. I want to help the galaxy, and thus I want to be a Jedi. From an out-of-universe perspective, I feel that becoming a Jedi could help me. I have never been a skilled writer - I've always liked languages of the machine over languages of the tongue. However, this very test has increased my writing skills, and my focus - I haven't slept for a day, but yet I am typing a paragraph. Training such as this will help me sharpen skills such as my writing prowess and my focus, which will help me in all aspects of life.
*shrugs* Don't worry, Junior. You'll get the hang of us Mando boys eventually. Or we'll "accidentally" off you with a prank that goes too far. Either way....
Bones EDIT: Excellent, you didn't give in to your desire for revenge. This one may have promise Jedi.
Don't let the bucket head get to you. Patience, young one. Well done. I'm impressed at the speed with which you completed this task. Your next one will come soon enough. No. You wont, MandBones.
Wait, that was quick? I went through two outlines, three drafts, one redraft, and a reading of The Jedi Path EDIT: I guess that's why they have us do essay drills in AP US History. To help us train to be Jedi.
*looks* Say, MB, what's that on your back? Looks like a small poster with "Free" printed at the top, then a target and "Practice" printed at the bottom.
