I think that's more what I'm meaning. It would be interesting to be able to do that.

I always thought when they're trained in hand to hand combat, they're not completely neutralized and they have use of the Force unless they have a ysalamari near by [face_thinking]

Well, she did have about 20 blasters pointed at her at the time -- and did get out of the situation through use of the Force (+ a preplanned appearance by Luke!).

I Bloodlines Jacen is throwing people against walls from outside their homes.....granted he's heading dark, but the power he is displaying is rather scary. Like 'walking' in the past and controlling a ship from a distance, a great distance!

Well, your head is big enough to protect what may or may not be up there... But I still like the idea of you rusting in a swimming pool. You'd be a nuisance to the rest of us! :p

    Wow, no comments?

    Either way, update number two...

    Senate Update

Yours truly is running for Co-Chancellor, along with Rebecca_Daniels. That being said, we will need someone else to take on the role of Senator for the Guardians of Light. The first choice is Chewbacca89 who has been my aid for these past few months. If he does not want it, then it is up to all of you to choose a new Senator.

So I'm listening to some old school music and it got me thinking. I would like to pose a question to you all. What can a Jedi learn from music? I do not mean simple appreciation of the art form.

Music, as any other art form, can be an extension of an individual's culture and an expression of one's self. A Jedi could potentially gain an understanding of a race's culture simply by viewing and listening to such art forms.

In our history, music and art had been shaped by events that had been effected generation by generation all throughout our history. Back in the olden years, after the outbreak of the Black Death, art had taken on a pessimistic, morbid shape as nearly everyone in Europe had been effected by the plague in some shape or form and became feared and paranoid of the specter of death that they saw as continuously haunting them. In the 1920s, the rise of jazz music - while accredited to African Americans - really became a movement where African American traditions became meshed with the white middle class as we made our way to the Civil Rights Movement.

For Star Wars examples, Mandalorian music tend to center around war hymns and lyrics that focus on their nomadic and warlike culture while Zeltron art and music is heavily influenced by the race's blatant focus on sexuality, thrill-seeking, and their tendency to party hard. Alderaanian music and art, I would guess, could have found itself shifting over the years. In comparison to the years before and after the Black Death in our history for Alderaanians they could've once had happy, peaceful music but the destruction of Alderaan by the Death Star and the displacement of their people could've shifted to a more sorrowful, grieving tone similar to the morbid shift after the Black Death.

For a more simplistic lesson that a Jedi could learn, they could just understand a lesson that music is not simply constrained to their species and each have their own way to establish music. For example, if a human Jedi was to sit down and listen to...say...Gamorrean opera, instead of just seeing it as a nonsensical chorus of grunts, snorts, and growls, it could be good practice to attempt to find the rhythm and pattern that those noises form to get a better understanding of Gamorreans and their own conception of music and how their culture can be interpreted through it.
