No politics this year, nothing but for the next 12 months. Jerusalem as host. This is going to go well.

 

Am I correct in thinking that the jury vote is a new addition from the past three years or so? It used to be exclusively televote, didn't it?

 

No, it's been this way since I've been watching which admittedly is recently. It's only been aired on TV in the US this year and last year.

 

They added the jury in the past 10 years or so. What they changed more recently was how they gave the results, iirc they used to have each country give a combined result, now it’s jury and televote seperately.

 

I'm not sure why she shouted Jerusalem, we're clearly going to Tokyo next year.

Anyway I know America moving the embassy caused a political uproar but Israel has hosted the Eurovision in Jerusalem before so it shouldn't be a problem.

The stage persona of the Swedish kid suggested to me that he thinks he is hunkier than he actually is, it must be said. That's How You Write a Song, I found very cringy, both in lyrics and stage choreography. Also in the "thinks they're hunkier than they actually are" category was the kid with the backpack and suspenders from Czechia.

 

What the hell was that ? I need to stay off the 'shrooms , I thought I was watching Lego-Leia do the chicken song .
