I dont deal with that kind of heat well either... I'll have to limit my exposure outside, not gonna bring any over-encumbering costumes

What's with all the talk about the heat? In the early morning, it shouldn't be extremely unbearable when its breakfast time and we're in line to get in. We'll be in the convention all day, and hopefully not as hot in the early evening when the con ends. Like Kathy said, we've dealt with the Orlando weather for two years in a row - heat, humidity AND rain!

Would you rather experience the cold, snow, wind, and rain from previous Celebrations? I've experienced all of those too.

At least we're not in costume filming in Tunisia, where it got to be 150 degrees!

I think I can deal with morning heat better than possibility of thunder storms.

Honestly, the rain at CIII killed the con for me and I had a pretty miserable time there. The only thing that saved that con for me was seeing friends like Cassandra and Maggie who I'd 'met' through TFN costume and props. They are not even going to CV :(

Also, for the parade at SWW we have a tent to hide in from the rain (will there be covered lines for us to wait in if there is a downpour at CV? Doubt it...). We also know to only wear costumes that can take the heat and rain. I would never wear my purple senate dress for example in SWW parade even if it were allowed for me to dress as Padme. Part of the attraction of going to these cons for me is the opportunity to make or wear some elaborate costumes that I otherwise can't when I troop with RL or 501st (I love the Padme costumes, but they just are not in demand for 'troops' because I don't look like Natalie and they usually want 'generic' characters like frumpy x-wing pilots... )

We'll see... I just finally enjoyed CIV because the weather was nice, and it was easy getting back and forth from the con to the hotel so I really had a relaxed great time.

frumpy? I've never heard of that... is that like a toned down version of fierfek? :p

Anyway, I'm gonna have to ponder about this for a while... I actually didn't think CIV was that good and CIII was test of survival and patience.

I'm afraid a trip planed now may possibly be one that can't be taken. Besides I REALLY wanted my next huge trip to be OUT of the fierfekking US [face_flag]. My passport expires in March of 2011. I want some more stamps in it before it does! ;)

Update! Just looked up frumpy cos I like learning new ways to describe stuff:

    frump (frmp)
    n.
    1. A girl or woman regarded as dull, plain, or unfashionable.
    2. A person regarded as colorless and primly sedate.
[Possibly short for Middle English frumple, wrinkle, from Middle Dutch verrompelen, to wrinkle : ver-, completely; see per1 in Indo-European roots + rompelen, to wrinkle.]
    frumpi·ly adv.
    frumpi·ness n.
    frumpy adj.

    Fierfekking frumpy frakker... :D

Yeah, I didn't mean it in the colorless sense... more in the woman looking a little dull (unattractive) sense. The x-wing jumpsuit is just not flattering on girls at all.

Heh... I dunno about that... I have no idea what it is but I really think particular people in X-wing gear are fierfekking hot... Maybe I've read the Rogue Squadron novels too many times. lol But lemme enable the help files:

and of course... Rogue Leader. ;)

I personally think it's the helmet. Just lug it around with you and don't wear it. Only wear it if you're actually in a freaking ship. Case n point:

Just a reminder that badges go on sale TOMORROW:

    http://www.starwarscelebration.com/

FYI, I am not going to offer up any of my extra rooms until people: 1) confirm that they have 4 people who will stay in the room, and 2) all four people have bought their badges and plane tickets.

That way, I'm guaranteed that room will be used, and I won't have to worry about it being wasted, when someone who really needed it, didn't get it. Make sense?

I'm waiting. For starters, I'd rather not spend the money right now as this has been an expensive month with Christmas. Secondly, tickets are non-refundable so I am just not ready to commit right now. Last time tickets never sold out from what I know, so I think we still have a lot of time to decide.

Win two passes to CV from....MAXIM!

    http://www.maxim.com/movies/the-movie-blog/85484/win-2-free-passes-to-star-wars-celebration-v.html

And for those who bought passes, check out the "Terms and Conditions":

VERY IMPORTANT! If you're picking up your ticket on-site, treat this confirmation as you would a mint condition 1977 Luke Skywalker action figure, a winning lottery ticket, cash, or a regular ticket to Star Wars Celebration. Don't make it into a paper airplane or crumble it up and toss it out. This confirmation page enjoys long walks on the beach, romantic dinners, and playing The Force Unleashed for hours and hours (and hours) until you bring it with you to Star Wars Celebration to get your ticket.

DO NOT DUPLICATE! Each barcoded confirmation can only be scanned ONCE. If for any reason a copy of this confirmation is made, the first confirmation scanned at the event will be honored -- duplicates will not be allowed to enter. Don't even try to get tricky. We have Purge Troopers waiting to respond at a moment's notice, and they're impervious to Jedi Mind Tricks.

Not that I don't love Ralph McQuarrie's classic work but you'd think with the massive art dept and resources LFL has on hand they could come up with something new. :p

Hmm... yeah, I think I might be a thread killer... lol

Yeah, I kinda thought that too. Maybe it was a last-minute idea? I've been e-mailing a couple of LFL employees this week, and they're super busy doing stuff for secret projects before the holiday break comes up. But I do know that they hire different artists each year to design their company holiday card.

What? It is mandatory. He is the MAN!
Ha! Hey, it was probably easier using taht artwork.

Anyway, another reason it seems to make it tough on the fans.
    Why always such short notice?
Hope the program makes up for it.
Seems C2 was the best of all of them so far. CIV would have the opening ceremonies was a bit disappointing.

Tempted to buy, but the future always in motion.
