I must inform you guys that there is no way I will be there by 8:30. I have to wait till my mom can get my little sister before I leave, and that'll be around nine, if my mom actually sticks to her plan.
So hopefully I'll get there around 10.
See you all tomorrow!
PS: I'll be bringing a card table and a couple chairs, just in case.

 

Don't bother with the poster boards Kris. We don't have time to wait until you show up to either start to set up or re-arrange after you get there. We've got plenty of items to fill the table.

Hi Everyone,

I am so sorry to have not made it out today. And really sorry for no notice. My phone has died and I haven't been able to charge it. I hope you are all having fun. We are sorry not to have gone.

Yesterday afternoon my Mom had a stoke. We have been at the hospital since yesterday (well actually two different hospitals) and they are still running test. She has very slurred speech and little movement on her right side. She has had a Cat Scan, MRI, ultra sound, and test on her corotic artery. We have yet to speak with the docs about the results. We are worried, bored, and tired of sitting here. So wish we were playing with you all...Thinking of you and missing you ... still.

First off, I'm sorry to hear about the stroke Minda. We heard that you weren't going to be there today, would've been great to see you again.

Today went off without a hitch! It was great to see all who came out and helped make this a really awesome event! A big THANK YOU to all who participated!I'll have pics up by Sunday afternoon but here's a few to hold you over until then.

By the way Sonya, you really missed out on the whole Wolverine movie experience with Kari. Let's just say you'll be pleased with the visuals. Kari is going to sleep tonight with a smile on her face tonight.

It was sooooo wonderful to see everyone again!!!! Just awesome to be out and about at an event. I'm sorry I couldn't stay longer, but was glad I got to be there at all. Great pics Kari!

 

It was a great day! And I have to say that Mike, Sheila, Dane, Chris, Stuart and Ben did an awesome job at the booth! Thank you guys for covering that for us! I know you did us proud. Hopefully we interested some new members.

I am bummed that I missed seeing Wolverine with you, Kari!

 

Looks like you all had fun! Wish I coulda been there (it's across the street from where I live), but I had a cold & didn't want to make anyone sick...

 

I don't know where or how to start to thank everyone that came out and participated. Yesterday was such an amazing day! If I leave somebody out or don't mention something they did, it's not on purpose, it's only because I can be a ditz.

Mike, our FCBD organizer, our IEFF PR Man Extraordinaire, you did such a great job! Yesterday went off without a hitch! Thanks for all the work you put into it (including that wonderful slide-show) and for being such an amazing booth stud! Shelia and Dane fit right in there with you. Nobody would ever guess that she is not a fan because she comes to all of our events, jumps right in and is always full of enthusiasm... and sarcasm. A great combination in my book! I'm always glad when Dane comes along, he's such a delight!

It was great to see you Stuart, and thank you for being one our amazing booth studs and for being a constant contact with Chris throughout the year! This is an annual event I never want to miss!

Ben, you're stuck. If you even consider quiting us, we'll hunt you down. Sorry, but you're one of us now! Thank you for bringing the AV equipment and for jumping right in and being our newest booth stud. It was really nice to meet your family. I hope they will join us on more of our upcoming adventures!

Kris, our youngest booth stud (not counting Dane,a although he rocks, too). I'm glad you made it. It's always fun to have you around to harass (and visa-versa, as the picture of you holding my blaster to my head shows).

As always, you booth studs were amazing. I felt free to do my costume thing because I know what a terrific job you guys do, the fun you have and enthusiasm you put out to visitors to our booth. I would have totally been in the way if I'd tried to help. Thank you for giving me the freedom to do my thing!

Bill and Sandy, as always, thank you for bringing the Falcon. She's the centerpiece of the IEFF! It's always a joy to be around you guys. Sandy, I hope you continue to be on the mend!

Sonya, thanks for always being the other Rebel. It's wasn't a car trip, but we still had fun! Sorry you missed the movie. There was all sorts of gratuitous Hugh Jackson in different states of undress!

Debbie, I'm so glad you got to show up, even if it was just for a small amount of time! It's just so natural to have you out there with us. You have no idea how much your missed! Thanks for the loan of the table clothe, too.

We had a great time with everyone yesterday. The Falcon wouldn't be the Falcon without something going wrong with her. I am so sorry we had to duck out early for our appointment. Boy that was a nightmare. Wish we would have stayed to the end of the FCBD and gone to see the movie. It would take more than I can put into words with what we went through yesterday with out appointment. Needless to say, it was horrible. Cannot understand how this person can be in real estate and not be a better host. The house was located quite a ways out there, and Bill was not happy with how far he would be away from a lot including the freeway. Now we are looking into Hesperia instead. Let you know how this venture goes.
Minda, we did miss you a lot yesterday, and we will keep your mom in out prayers for her.

 

I am sorry for not posting this in the last post, but thank you so much for the boxes Kari. They are very much needed. Thank you all for your good wishes. Ben thank you for doing what you do for getting the wheelchair. You go above and beyond.
