Ark EVENT: May 16 Sidney McMath Library in Little Rock

    A Bit of Info about the event:


    Requesting an appearance of 501st, RL, and FanForce members during their "Jedi Academy" and will be the feature event of our Star Wars movie marathon month in May. It will take place Saturday, May 16th, 2009 from 2 pm-3:30 pm. We are planning for 15-30 kids. The core of the program will consist of a presentation by a sword collector/Star Wars fan discussing sword etiquette, lasers and physics in relation to the lightsaber. Then the kids (our target audience is 10-15 year olds, but we usually get all ages at our programs) will make their own foam lightsabers for practicing their jedi skills with balloons and then dueling with each other. I also plan to have several small activities for younger children. A showing of Phantom Menace will follow the program.

    Even if you don't want to come out in costume... If you've got little ones, this looks to be fun for them.
