Events building up to SW EPII: AOTC

Ladies and Gentlemen, Droids, Jawas, and
even....ulp...Rebels,

With the release of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of
the Clones fast approaching, we have a few things we
need to take care of. Hopefully, doing so now will
enable us to get some much-favored seats at the
midnight showings.

I am working with Jim Jarman (Wizards Asylum) and
Gerald Well (Star World) to see about organizing a
Star Wars promo with the Tulsa FanForce and the 501st Legion. That's going to require a few things from the group as a whole.

1. MASS PARTICIPATION! We will need every FanForce member that can attend to be there! If you are unable, we completely understand. I've said it before, and
I'll say it again. "We can't all be at every event, every time."

2. Costumes. If you have a high quality costume that you would be proud to wear for a few hours before the movie, go for it! If all you have is a lightsaber, bring it! Vader and Baron Fel will be out and about
until about 30 minutes before the movie starts.

3. Tulsa FanForce Table. We will have a group table
at the movie premiere. And what better way to attract
attention than with a Tulsa FanForce Banner! We can
probably have one produced for around $100. It would
be a large color banner with the logo. Final banner
design to be determined at next meeting. I'll get
some price quotes, and we'll see what we can come up
with. I'll understand if there are some members that
might be strapped for cash and cannot donate to said
banner. When we are not using the banner, I will see
if Jimmy will let us hang it on his wall in Wizards
Asylum. And, to get the ball a rollin, I hereby pledge
$30 (that's dollars, not Republic credits) towards to
banner fund!

4. We need to appoint a treasurer. We will do this
via votes on the yahoo board. Please submit all
nominations by Wednesday. If you are nominated, but
do not feel comfortable handling the responsibilities,
let me know via private email and your name will be
removed from consideration. The voting will be
anonymous, so no one will know who voted for who.
Right now, there is no plan for a FanForce bank
account or anything like that. I just want someone
who can be responsible for any monies donated to a
project, and account for the spending of that money in
a report to the group at the following meeting.

5. Here's where I hit up specific people for help.

Gary = Obviously depending on how much abuse he takes
at SWC II, will Artoo be able to make it the midnight
showing here in Tulsa?

Mike = Does your company do any busines with any
signage stores you would recommend for the banner
project? I'm not asking you to call in any favors,
just point me in the right direction.

Lisa = I would personally like to nominate you for
Treasurer. Are you up fo rit?

Billy and Kenzi = Being from out of town, do you know
if you will be making the trip up to T-town for the
midnight showing? Also, would you get your wookie
friend to sign up on the yahoo group page? Zach was a
riot!

Ed = Can you bring your camera and play
cinematographer for us again at the EP II midnight
showing?

Roger = Would you be willing to man the table for a
short shift while we wait for the theater to let us
in? Basic info duty for people that haven't heard of
us yet. You'd also be taking info for new members.

Oh yeah, is there anyone that absolutely cannot make
it to Wizards Asylum for a quick meeting this
Saturday? LMK, and we'll schedule accordingly.

 

I took the 16th off and get off at 4PM that wednesday. Soooooo.... I will be there in a Obi Wan form and my wife as Padme. I should be able to get tickets no problem as a friend will be ready to get them the second they go on sale. Also i can help with the table in whatever way needs helping.

And since i'm the Second Mike i guess everyone can call my Mike 2. Can't wait to see everyone there!

Doing good. ^_^ but will be doing much better come the 16th... oh and i'm good for 10 Rebublic Credits on a banner. Or real cash, which ever you prefer.
