I slipped last night.

Last night was my roomies b-day (aka today but it's a work night) and I broke down and had a bit more than half of one. Later on my roommate showed up with another smoke. I had quite a few drags off that.

But, I don't have any now and the cravings aren't that strong. And get this, I haven't even put on a new patch yet.

 

A slip-up is not the same as failure. You are still doing great.

Thanks. I didn't really want that 2nd one. My roommate just showed up with two in his hand. So it was there and I wasn't about to save it for later.

You are human Dave. Forgive yourself for what you did and move on from there. I have to remind myself the same thing whenever I go on a diet modification program. I am slowly learning that lesson myself.

It never works, that's why people get frustrated so easily. You have to come to terms w/ the fact that a "slip" is not the end of the exercise, only a hurdle to overcome in the course of your path.

I haven't actively smoked in like 10 years, and I still "Slip" every once in a while (I've been more successful in the drinking thing though, not a one since 1988, but death has been a more emminent spectre for that one).

 

Day 1:

Put the patch on at 8am this morning, thing itched like crazy. For a brief moment I thought 'I am going to take this thing off'. No I am commited to my cause. I began driving to my dr. appointment and the patch kicked in...whoa...I had that foggy head rush feeling.

Here it is 11:36 and I haven't had a craving yet...tonight at home I well have a hard time.
I should get a few phone numbers for support, since I don't have the 'puter yet at home...

 

Applying pressure helps a bit with the itching. Also it goes away after a few. Just make sure you don't peel it off with the fingernails.

 

Maybe I shouldn't be posting under this Subject heading...
