Everything Burns

She sat in the corner of the room, her knees against her chest and her face on her hands. Through the darkness of the unfamiliar apartment, a fireplace brought life to its surroundings.

She took a deep breath, letting her eyes rest upon the far light. Blood and sweat over her face covered a frozen expression. No emotion was showed, but memories made their way to her head.

*It will pass, child, and you will believe me. Follow my command, and you will not regret it...*

*You must obey our Master. If he says it's the best, then it is.*

And then screams, cries, the voices started begging her to stop, again.

She wanted to go away, to run, to forget, to sleep and never to wake up.

She sits in her corner
Singing herself to sleep
Wrapped in all the promises
That no one seems to keep
She no longer cries to herself
No tears left to wash away
Just diaries of empty pages
Feelings gone astray
But she will sing

Flames were reflected on her green eyes, as rage burnt inside her. They had made her do it again, against her will. She hated them. And now, pain took over her. A revenge that she would never have came to her mind.

She licked the blood on her lips, savouring the flavour of cruelty.

Til everything burns
While everyone screams
Burning their lies
Burning my dreams
All of this hate
And all of this pain
I'll burn it all down
As my anger reigns

Through the Great Hall, she walked behind her Master, mask over her face. Everyone congratulated him for ending the conflicts on various planets, for finishing off dictators, for being such a gifted mind.

However, it had been her who had been commanding stormtroopers on various battles, it had been her who had murdered those politicians, it had been her who had architected plans to infiltrate herself on numerous organisations. And the worst is that it had been her who had been bruised, who had bled, who had suffered.

Walking through life unnoticed
Knowing that no one cares
Too consumed in their masquerade
No one sees her there
And still she sings

As she backed off to some dark place in the large room, a familiar feeling, a familiar warmth rose inside her. Her eyes darkened, the fire came back and it burnt all the injustice, all the remorse, all the regret, all the hopes, all the dreams she had. Only the fire remained.
