I've always been curious if the Ewoks were once more technologically advanced and then for whatever reason reverted to the stone age?

Some of their devices like the catapult and hangglider remained in their society while others due to lack of resources, metals, withered away.

    Thoughts??

I don't know 100%, but I have a feeling they are what they appear to be in ROTJ.
I just can't picture those lil chubby furry digits doing any kind of delicate work
usually needed for tech advanced systems/computers whatnot.

I think they were lucky to have the catapult and hangglider. The were simple, primative creatures. Their worship of C3P0 shows they may have had some contact with technology in the past, though. However, I have always wondered how the Ewoks had a dress in the village for Leia to wear.

You can see a few with an E-Web in a panel from Dark Empire

And they're clearly not stupid; building massive structures hundreds of feet off the ground denotes a good-if not outstanding-understanding of engineering.

Yes, he does...and I also recall him banging on parts of the falcon with a tool while
growling in complaint, so your point? lol

That lack of conventional fingers is no impediment to using technology. :p

Not really. They just worship shiny things.

However, I have always wondered how the Ewoks had a dress in the village for Leia to wear.

Heh, in her size too. [face_laugh]

Why do stormtroopers have more cargo than ewoks?

    Guns.Germs.Steel.

I'm probably the only one who gets my own reference, BUT I think they probably were always around the same level of technological literate as in ROTJ. I mean, these are an alien animal species, and they can commute thought but probably stick to the roots of making things with wood. Their like the cavemen of Endor, they have tribes, fire,a leader, and old technology that still can do the trick.

Ewoks probably aren't the species that can fly a ship, but seem to be ok steering a land speeder.
