    I did get offended once when my ex-girlfriend didn't know who Wedge was.

    He's in all three movies!!

    You know I never really got why people like Wedge in the movies. EU I can understand. He didn't really help in ANH. Mainly this one. That one still irks me. He took down a walker in ESB I believe and helped destroy the 2nd Death Star.

    Have you seen the Battle of Endor? Everyone's panicking. Is Wedge? Nope. He's cool. He's got this, trap or no trap. He's going to fly inside that Death Star and take it down. Considering they were flying blind in there...yeah. Wedge rules. [face_love]

    As for ANH, he took out the TIE that was on Luke's tail.

    The only thing I've really had to explain is the canon setup and how the EU works as a whole. Good old DarthDragon164, explaining Star Wars canon to our poor friends.

    I explained the post-NJO universe for several hours, resulting in my friend summarising DNT, LotF, FotJ and Legacy as 'so it's all Jacen's fault'... which really irritated me to no end.

    "No, it's not all Jacen's fault. He ended the Second Galactic Civil War through his tactics but Star Wars is teaching us that even the most well-intentioned and logical act that is evil will have evil consequences, even though there is no forseeable connection between the act and the result. Jacen made the right decision at the time."
    "But he caused the apocalypse."
    "Yes."
    "So it is his fault."
    "Yes, but not intentionally."
    "That doesn't change that it's his fault."
    "Yes, and that's the point."
    "I still don't understand."
    "Alright, let's try it this way; one side has a star system destroying superweapon and a secret assault fleet, and the other one has leaders who should be running the Empire. Who's in the wrong?"
    "About time the good guys got the cool stuff."
    "NO!"

    Another thing I sometimes do when people ask me what I'm reading: if I'm reading a star wars book, I'll try to summarize the book without ever giving away the fact that it's star wars or even sci-fi. With some books it's harder than others, but often I'm pretty good at it. It's not out of shame or anything, since I read these books in public a lot, I just do it for fun.

    Good call. And explaining the EU to non EU familiar people...ugh. Sometimes it's not so bad, like with my wife, who's endlessly patient and (at least pretends to be) interested. Other times, like for my younger friends who started with the PT, it's kinda horrible.

    Obi-Wan couldn't kill someone that he viewed as a brother. Plus isn't it against the Jedi way to kill someone?
