Saber-tooth tigers, though, as IRD adverted to, are extinct. If they were not, they would be within the classification of a first world problem because they would be more awesome than Chuck Norris. Therefore they comply with the prerequisites set out in the thread title: extinct first world problems.

Being unable to get to your favorite store because there's a huge crowd around a pair of breakdancers.

Having your entire family accused of witchcraft by the Puritans and then burned to the steak.

    Talk about fusion cuisine...

Hardly extinct -- just this past year or two, Tony Blair warned that Britain was on the verge of becoming a "second world country," which is extra hilarious coming from Mr. New Labour.

Caller ID and the ability to star 69 redial has made prank calling a thing of the past.

Why do you think The Simpsons dropped the whole Bart prank-calling Moe's Bar thing by the mid-90s?

Because the writers used to know when a joke had run its course?

Besides which, they're still quite abundant. Only now, rather than being a one-off event, they can spawn whole "playing on my phone" feuds, as the Chappelle Show once referenced. The fact that he was able to base a whole skit on the concept, demonstrates its continued cultural relevance.

When I was a boy, one of my classmates in primary school used to prank call the entire grade on the evening that the school directory was published. It was a pretty grand tradition. I still remember the year he used "Do you have a closet?" on me.

Having to ask around your friends (or write a letter to a magazine) for the solution when stuck in a video game.

I remember 11 year old me being incredibly excited that one of our family friends managed to help me out with Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis as he had ISDN. I had been stuck for a year.

I miss prank phone calls. Especially calling the bowling alley, hoping a guy answered the phone, and asking if he had 15-pound balls.

Yes because it's terribly embarrassing. At the temple in central America. I couldn't work out to distract him with Sonja so I could steal his lantern.

I'm worried that my favorite spot (outdoor, at the far right corner of the building) at my favorite hookah/cigar lounge will be occupied by others when I arrive there later this night, and thus will have to sit at a less than desirable location.
