FEAR Obstacle Course

After seeing everyone pass the balance task, only one thing stopped them from reaching the end...A giant maze. There was only one entrance to the maze, and it would test one's patience and mind ability. Every part of the inside looks the same, so they can go around and around an area without even knowing that they are going in circles. The top was open, allowing sunlight to shine down into.

Nick walked around and awaited near the exit door...5 minutes 32 seconds...

C'mon...you can do this. Nick prayed in his mind.

F.E.A.R Obstacle course

Kally was pretty much now running on empty as she finished the balance task, the pack was really hurting her back and shoulders and a mix of sweat, mud and pig junk made her eyes sting. But she heard Ians encouragement and she kept on going. She reached the maze. She turned to her fellow recruits

"We really don't want to get separated in here. Best stick together"

Biography: Born in a lower-middle class family, Thorr loved to learn, but didn't have any options after high school, so he joined the Marines. He caught a lot of attention during his training, and rose up through the ranks pretty fast. After four years in the Marines, he was asked to join the secret government organization F.E.A.R.

Thorr looked out the window of the black car. He was driving up the F.E.A.R. dirveway, and it was very senic. The smell of military training going on made Thorr's heart jump. He had forgotten how much he missed the stench of sweat and grass, the crys of instructors far away, and the look on the new recruits faces. As he parked his car, a soldier walked up to him.

"Mr. Thomas?" Asked the stern-faced soldier.

"Why yes, I beleive I am to be taken to the captain..." Thorr didn't quite know why he was here or what this organization was about, but it was time for a change. As they walked up to the officers offices, Thorr couldn't help but feel a little excited...

Two soldiers escorted the new recruit into the inner compound of the Facility. After frequent stops for I.D and military chatter, they finally reached the Main Office.

Entering the Office, crowds of people walked by, chattering and passing papers. There were some officer's treating some soldiers without respect, "Sit down, scumbag!" The officer pushed the soldier, seemed like he was in trouble. The soldier ran into Thorr, accidently and apologized.

"You the new guy?" An officer sitting at a desk said. "The Captain has been expecting you." The two guards nodded to each other and one of them opened the door to the Captain's office.

Thorr helped the poor soldier up, and looked at the officers. "I would appreciate it if you would stop being so mean, I mean really, no one is bennifiting from your stupidity. You are just making yourselves seem like jerks, who need to belittle others so that you are put in a postivie light, because you wouldn't be under any other circumstances"

And with that he walked into the Captains office and took a seat. "Hello Captain. I am honered to be here, but I must say, I am a bit curious..."

"Who the hell does he think he is?" The officer sneered to his collegue. "New guys...always think they're boss." The collegue replied. "Heh, noobs."

When Thorr entered the Captain's office, the sight of his organized clean desk immediately drew his attention. The Captain was typing on the computer, when he finally looked at Thorr. "Thomas, isn't it?" The Captain turned to face Thorr and grinned, extending his hand for a friendly handshake.

"Take a seat." The Captain, pointed to a seat in front of his desk. "Anything you want? Water, Beer, Juice?"

The Captain adjusted his tie and then eyed on Thorr after hearing him. "Curious about what?"

Thorr eyed the selection and said "I'll take a beer, thanks." As he opened it and siped, he heard the Captians quesiton.

"Curious about what?"

"Well, for starters, about what this place is, I've never heard of it. My commanding officer just told me I was accepted and to show up. And also, why am I here? What made you guys see me?"

"Good man." The Captain pulled out a chilled bottle of beer from the small fridge in the corner of the office and handed it to Thorr.

He then stood up and looked out the window, hordes of men marching and doing jumping jacks on the field. He clamped both hands behind his back and stared out the window.

"FEAR stands for First Encounter Assault Recon. We do things other law enforcement and Military Agencies won't dare get themselves into. We get all the latest-gear, the prototype weapons, and we're trained to the max. Now I know you're a Sergeant in the Military Field, so you will have a smooth time here in the Academy." The Captain explained and sat back down behind his desk.

Ian Richards
FEAR Obstacle Course

"I think your right. Best to stick together."

He looked at her and to ther other recruits. He cautiously took a step in. He motioned for the rest to follow him.

Ian knew they didn't have enough time to waste. They needed to hurry.

They all started to run. Right then left then left.

"Damn mazes!"

So this is just what Thorr wanted. "This is great sir, I've been looking for a place like this. I think your right. I should fit right in. I am a quick learner, a good leader, and an even better fighter. It is an honour to serve you. What kind of system are you using here? Will we be in squads, companys, platoons or what?"

"Of course, Sergeant." The Captain grinned. "We're glad to have you within our Division. It's an honor to have you. Well we'll be using between Squads and Sections. Are you familiar with it?"

The names were familliar to Thorr, but he didn't know what they meant. "No sure, I am not quite sure what you mean.."

The Captain

"A squad ranges from 8-12 people and a section ranges from above 12 and below 30." The Captain explained.

"My men, every one of them, has seen battle. Has seen death. Believe me, you will too. I guarantee it." The Captain's voice sounded intimidating, cold, yet bold.

"I see. Rest assured sir, I am no stranger to battle, or death for that matter. I have seen many a friend die on the battle feild. I led a Marine squad for a year, right before I came here actually, so I am no stranger to small unit tactics. Are you assembling a new squad then, or am I to be integrated into one that already is functioning?"

The Captain

The Captain smiled and nodded, straightning the documents and folders to the side of his desk.

"I'm putting you under the leadership of First Sergeant Nicholas Richards. He's a good man, you'll like him. One of the best men I ever had. Best and the few. Get to know him, Nick loves to meet new people. Any questions? Any comments? Good." The Captain said quickly, cutting off any reply Thorr was going to make. If he was going to make, anyways. "You are excused. Two escorts are outside waiting for you. Make me proud, make us proud." The Captain grinned and saw as the door swung open, two soldiers walking in waiting for Thorr.

IC: Jeremy Morton

"OK, guys this will take awhile." He said, "We must rush but we must'nt run ourselves out of thinking. This maze will take alot of thinking and we must be sure to not retrace ourselves"
Jeremy pulled the blade from his ancle holster and stabbed it into the ground.
"Let's go" He said leaving a line in the ground to show which ways they had already been and to also ensure they didn't get lost.

IC: Jake Hanley

As the group came to the maze Jake let out a sigh. Everything else in the course had been quite normal but a maze? Next they'll be making us play Sudoku he thought to himself.

As Jake examined the maze walls he turned to Ryan, who was standing in front of him. "Hey Ryan, give us a boost onto the wall, screw this maze, time to get imaginative!"

"C'mon, guys...6 minutes 35 seconds..you can do this." Nick felt all muscles in his body begin to tense up. There was something about these recruits that gives Nick a feeling that they are just not recruits. Maybe he was delusional. Maybe he wasn't. Still they had to hurry to get out of the maze. There was no rules. Just pass the exit marker and meet up with the First Sergeant.

Thorr walked out to the obstacle course with the captain. With his beer in hand, he stood to the side and watched the requrits. He felt a slight longging to be out there with them, but he surpressed it. This was a good looking bunch of requrits...

IC: The Captain

"Believe me, I know what your thinking." The Captain chuckled and stood next to Thorr. "They may look good on the outside, but they're even better in the inside." The Captain then turned to face Thorr. "Want to meet 'em, Sergeant?"

"Want to meet them, sargent?"

"Yes, I would love to. The way I look at it, the sooner I get to know my team the better. And yes, they do look impresive..."

''Sure thing'' Ryan said, a then crouched over for Jake to climb over ''Pull me up once you get up there, then we should be able to jump from wall to wall''

FEAR Obstacle Course

"All right, Thorr. Follow me." The Captain motioned Thorr to move and then walked up towards 1st Sergeant Nick, who was waiting near the end of the maze.

"1st Sergeant?" The Captain said loud enough for Nick to hear. "Yes..." Nick didn't make eye contact but the moment he saw that it was his superior, he saluted. "...sir?"

"Got a new recruit for ya, he's Ex-Military..." The Captain patted Thorr on the back. "Get to know everyone, Thorr, I guarantee you'll do well, Sergeant Thorr." The Captain smiled and left.

"Nice to meet you, Sergeant. I'm 1st Sergeant Nicholas Richards, but please call me Nick. As you can see I'm timing my recruits in this obstacle course." Nick looked at the timer in hand. "*** damn it! It's nearing 7 minutes!" He cursed under his breath. "Get your asses over here!"
