Saga Fall - Darth Sidious versus Yoda, in poem form.

Two meet,
Both falling to age,
Both falling to rage,
Both falling to faceless destiny.

The blades of light work together,
Flashing scarlet,
Flashing emerald,
Scything loops and twirls and flares and twists and parries.

They clash, hold fast,
Shadows spread from the light,
One, a shadow of a shadow,
One, a shadow of a light,

The blades work their ways again,
A chord of rasping and struggle intertwined,
The screaming arc of lightning apparent,
The eyes of both loudly promising death,

Not life versus life,
Not religion versus religion,
Not principal versus principal,
Not even truth versus lie.

Truth fought truth,

Neither was wrong,
Nor were they right.

The flames of battle fanned and engulfed,
The icy touch of death smothered,
The hiss of pain grew deafening,
And only then did one finally see.

See through the mask and saw darkness,
See through the darkness and saw shadows,
See through the shadows and saw the mirror,
See the mirror of Darth Sidious, and through, to it all.

Clarity.

The blades faded from hearing,
The pain faded from touch,
The lightning faded from sight,

But the dark chilled the Force,

As one, the one of light, realised.
As the most terrible wound of engulfed him,
The deepest cut drove past his defences,
Shattered the mirror of Yoda,

The pieces flickering scattered light,

And fell...

For...

The darkness brought only truth...
