JadeSolo has gone to the <s> Dark</s> Non Star Wars Fan Fic Side. The NSWFF writers have our blessing to give her a hard time.

Filling her spot is the lovely-in-pink KELIA! (Pronounced Ka-lee-ah. I had to ask. ) Be nice to her for a few minutes while she takes all Jade?s posters of hot drummers off the dorm room wall.

NanaV is sending daily care packages to her son in Army boot camp and requiring ten push-ups for each letter. Tough love.

Teh!Face has rejoined the masses who thirst for higher knowledge and?stuff. If he starts blathering about De Stijl in the middle of his posts, just nod and smile.

Trace still drives a beige minivan with a Darth Vader decal and pokes people with needles for fun. No, really.

RULES AND SUCH

One change to the FAQ regarding Sexual Depictions

Previously, the FAQ stated:

b) Stories depicting sex with minors are not allowed. For these forums, a minor is anyone below 18 years of age. Romantic pairings are fine, as is a minor holding a crush on an adult, but these may not cross into sexual relationships.

An exception is if the minor is only two or three years younger than the adult. These are general guidelines, and we will look at stories on a case-by-case basis should a problem arise.


This wording has been revised to read:

b) Stories depicting sex with minors are not allowed. For these forums, a minor is anyone below 18 years of age. Romantic pairings are fine, as is a minor holding a crush on an adult, but these may not cross into sexual relationships.

References to anyone under the age of 16 being involved in sexual relationships are not allowed.

Minors (16 and 17 year olds) can be referenced as being involved in consensual sexual relationships, but in no case are they to be involved with anyone over the age of 21.


We are NOT saying that you can now write PG descriptions of sex scenes involving minors. However, it came to our attention that there are quite a few stories around involving pregnant minors, sometimes with female characters as young as 15 years old. We are not condemning or condoning teenage pregnancy, but in the interest of being a family friendly board, we had to draw the line somewhere.

A matter of etiquette

Unlike many Fan Fic sites, we are pretty lenient about requiring tags for content. We do expect tags (warnings) for inter-species relationships and references to same sex relationships. That?s it, really.

However, if you have a story that contains content that you know could be disturbing to readers, please consider, as a courtesy, providing a warning. We?re not talking about mild profanity or character deaths, but issues that are sensitive, such as: rape or incest.

Again, this is just a matter of etiquette. A good rule of thumb would be that if you feel it is necessary to get clearance from a moderator about a sensitive subject first, that?s probably a good sign that you might want to warn

 

Very cool update! Though I usually hate this series - most of it is just sex and whining

Ooooh, thanks for the link - I'll have to check it out! I just finished a marathon reading of the entire Anita Blake series this summer and have started collecting the Marvel comic adaptation. Did you hear they're talking movie or TV show? *excited*

 

Aaaaaaah, I was wondering where the forum update had gotten to.

It's a pity that the Non Star Wars Fan Fic Forum doesn't have a catchier acronym than NSWFFF.

And I'm probably just wear the Jinn sock again this year. Or maybe my sock-sock - the one that's just my username with 'sock' added to it. I'm not very stylish in text.

 

Yes, do!! I have heard it - I guess someone just bought the rights to the first 16 books or something. Have you read the Merry series?

I hope the Anita movie/show is a new story or an adaptation of one of the earlier, pre-ardeur books.

I halfway tried to read one of the Merry books, but couldn't get into it. But that was about the same time that I discovered Kay Hooper's Bishop/SCU series, so I've been catching up on those ever since.

I've never read the books, but I've seen enough rants about the later books to know what happened. And again, mods, using a forbidden fandom for your theme? Tsk, tsk.
