Calgary Fame For Food

Please post if you can make this event. If you have a costume please wear it.
We are looking at maybe a 1pm time slot. I need numbers by Thursday Nov 25 at the latest.
We should easily be able to bring tons of food or everybody make a cash donation of $5-10 each.

This year Citytv is looking to reach our $275,000 target and help the Calgary Interfaith Food Bank feed 2390 families of four.

Citytv will be broadcasting live from the Sobeys in Riverbend and the Sobeys in Royal Oak between Noon and 6 p.m. on December 3rd.

Come out and help by making a donation and record a greeting that will air on Citytv and be posted online at www.citytv.com.

Last year, Fame for Food in Calgary raised $242,000 in cash and food donations.
It takes a lot to feed a family of four for one week; $115 or 55 lbs of food to be precise. If you are bringing non-perishables, the following items are the most needed items at the food bank and can be used as a guide:

? Processed Cheese Spread
? Jam
? Canned Fruit
? Canned Vegetables
? Peanut Butter
? Baby Formula
? Tomatoes
? Spaghetti Sauce
? Beans
? Cereal
? Canned Fish

We will accept cash donations and non-perishable food items in exchange for recording your season greeting between Noon and 6pm.

I think the idea of this is that Ryan needs NUMBERS. Not "Probably"s or "maybe"s.

I understand if people have other commitments, but if you don't have anything that for sure will keep you out of this (like work or a previous commitment), please COMMIT to being there. If anyone needs a ride (from anywhere in the city), Kent and I can come pick you up. We have room for three.

Also, costumes are cool, but not necessary. The idea behind this is to have a good representation of the Fan Force, and that means people both IN costume and OUT of costume. We want to show off in front of all of Calgary, so come out and be seen (and bring food for the Food Bank!!!).

 

Veritate, since you two are offering rides, would I be able to go with you from lightsabre class? That might be easier than going back to UofC on time for Ryan to pick me up. Thanks.

Time: 1:40PM Thats the closest to 1pm I could get.
Location: Sobeys in Riverbend

Arrive 15-20 minutes early so we can get our group registered.

Apailana if you are coming please have a parent there to fill out the consent form.
My son is coming in his hedi gear as well.

PLease maek sure we bring a good size donation. If our Donation is enough for a family of 4 for a week we can get entered into a contest from vibe for a trip to vancouver to see a concert.

If you guys want your clone to show up, let me know. Not sure how long it'll take for the camera stuff but as long as I can be gone by 2:45 I should be ok, have to DJ.

 

Robe. it Basically take 1/2 hour or so to get done with our greeting and getting registered. You would be done before 2:45 for sure.

That was pretty awesome... definately glad I came out, very cool to get to meet some of you finally! (and for the record, I was JUST KIDDING about not wanting ppl to see me on TV, I hold an IDC policy on SW haters) =P

 

Great turn out for this event. It was great to meet a few new faces I'd yetto meet. Thanks to everybody who came out in the cold. I can't wait to see us on TV. As soon as the link is online I'll post it here.
