I thought that today, the day of the last movie, would be good for this (actually, it just happened that I finished tonight). Welcome to the end.

Six months, 110 fights, sixty-four threats to elope, seventy-three party decisions, a huge guest list, an expensive caterer, a gigantic dress, lots of tears, and a half-hour ceremony later . . .

Jag and Jaina Fel shared their first kiss as husband and wife.

Iella Antilles smiled at her husband. ?That was a very sweet ceremony.?

?Thank you,? he replied, kissing her. ?It?s about time they got married.?

?Just think?in a few years this will be our girls.?

Wedge shuddered. ?Don?t say that! Please don?t say that!?

Iella decided not to tell him that their daughter Syal was dancing very close to Doran Tainer.

Luke bounced Ben on his hip as he and Mara walked over to Wedge and Iella. ?You two aren?t dancing?? Wedge asked.

Luke shook his head. ?We have to watch Ben.?

Malinza Thanas popped up at Luke?s side. ?What he really means is that he?s too old.? She grinned, taking Ben out of his arms and retreating quickly.

Mara glared at the young woman?s back, but Luke chuckled. ?That too. We thought we?d give the kids a chance to dance without the old people.? He sobered. ?And I do feel old. My niece just got married. She already has a daughter. And one of my nephews is married, and the other is engaged.?

Iella looked surprised. ?Jacen?s engaged??

Mara turned her glare on her husband before nodding to Iella. ?It?s not public knowledge, but he proposed to Tenel Ka last week. They?re going to keep it quiet until after the wedding, when things settle down.?

?Leia?s going to have to get right back in,? Iella said with a smile.

Mara shrugged. ?If she?s not too weary after the fight Jaina gave her, she?ll be competing with the Hapans. Tenel Ka is the Queen Mother, after all.?

Wedge tried to cover a smirk. ?I heard plenty about the hell that Jaina put everyone through.?

Luke nodded in agreement. ?Every time I turned around, she was threatening to elope.?

Mara sighed, looking over the crowd. ?I don?t blame her and Jag for wanting a small wedding. Fifty people would have been fine; I don?t think they even know half the people here.?

?That?s rich, coming from the woman who fought like a rancor for pink on the cake instead of green,? Luke said dryly. Wedge and Iella laughed.

Luke looked over Wedge?s shoulder. ?Hey, who?s that dancing with Syal? Is that Doran Tainer??

Wedge turned around? ?What?! Oh, he is in such big trouble . . .?

Iella grimaced. ?Thanks,? she said sarcastically.

Syal had her face pressed into Doran?s shoulder when she felt him stiffen. ?What?s the matter?? she murmured.

?Your dad is looking at me like he?s going to bite my head off.?

?Don?t worry, he won?t make a scene and ruin Jaina?s day. You?re safe tonight.?

?And tomorrow??

?I?d advise running.?

?Maybe we had better stop dancing so close.?

Syal snorted. ?Yeah, right. I?ve got you exactly where I want you; I?m not letting go.?

Doran smiled and held his girlfriend a little closer. ?So since I?m running, would you like to run with me??

?Where to?? Syal asked, meeting his eyes.

?Oh . . . how about our spot on the rocks??

Syal smiled. ?I?d like that,? she said. She leaned closer and kissed him softly on the lips.

Doran returned the kiss. After all, he was safe tonight. He could go buy body armor tomorrow.

Myri noticed Troy standing by himself in a corner. ?Not joining in the festivities?? she asked, cradling a drink that she hoped wasn?t alcoholic.

Troy toasted her with his wine glass and gave her a small smile. ?Not really in the mood. What about you??

?No one to dance with.?

?Ah,? he said noncommittally, taking a sip. ?You know, Dawn is with a babysitter.?
