Sth Bend, IN Famous People sightings

So last week I was at one of our local radio stations to do a quick interview about the Sioux Falls BioBlitz. I saw a big bus parked outside but didn't pay much attention to it, and I passed by a couple guys as I walked into the building. One looked like a DJ (whatever that means - though he actually looked somewhat like Chick McGee). Anyway, as I waited in the lobby I heard him say something to the effect of, "Hi Joe, my daughter and her friend are in the booth, if that's ok". I then heard a slightly mumbled, "yeah, sure, whatever" and I turned to see a skinny, somewhat desheveled man walk past with the DJ and two or three others in tow. The voice and the quick glimpse I had both seemed familiar, so I looked out the window at the bus and saw this.

Joe Perry, of Aerosmith, was making his way back East and stopping at radio stations along the way to promote his new solo album, as well as update fans on the status of Steven Tyler, who fell from the stage last week in Sturgis, SD and suffered a broken shoulder (more details and a video clip here).

 

I think the closest to famous I have seen are the actors that were at C2 & C3, and some ND football players around town.

 

and of course those times when you actually saw VIO

 

I shared an elevator with Larry Bird when I was in Minneapolis for work back in 2004. Not only that, but he was in the hotel room next to ours. My sister still hasn't forgiven me for not getting his autograph.

I have an expected Famous People Sighting to report - I expect to see Xmaveric on Thursday (slayer of R2Detroit, don'tcha know).

 

I saw Vince Vaughn at the ND/MSU game AND Bears/Steelers game this weekend.

You should so do that the next time you have someone at the house to do work. Just get out the camera and start snapping.

 

Yeah, I know, it's "information everywhere" and "cameras everywhere" and "no privacy" but I don't want to be the creepy guy taking the pics.

I've had my picture taken by homeowners while i was making an inspection. i had one lady ask if she could take my pic giving a "thumbs up" to show it had passed. i think it was going in her scrapbook. it may be a bit eccentric, but i've never been creeped out by it.

 

I videotaped the doctor doing my Son's circumcision.
