Welcome, Spicesmuggler! Nice to see all these new members all of a sudden.

In addition to raffles at these shows, we have been dressing up in costume to call attention to ourselves, especailly at the shows of broader interest, such as GraniteCon and the Jetpacks comic show in the fall. We noticed that we got much more raffle traffic after one of us dressed up in costume.

Z: we had wondered aloud that if we could get someone brave enough to dress up as a Slave Leia we could probably charge for photos with her to raise more money for the charity and the club, get much more traffic, and attract more members. Are you up for the challenge?

It'd be great if we could all get into costumes for Supermegafest!!

 

Absolutely! Is Ralph's show before SMF? It would have been great to dress up for the free Clone Wars showings later this month, but I guess there is not much notice for that. Perhaps we could all go in costume to one of the free showings. I'm sure that there are some extra costumes lying around TK's place that we could borrow. The kids would love to dress up, too.

 

Sounds good! The shed should be finished this week so I'll designate a corner to put donations, and I'll do up a spreadsheet to keep track of who donates what

 

I have some old items to donate but of them are in their packages since I played with them when I was little. There is a Xizor figure, a speeder figure (sadly without the speeder), a mini Hoth scene where you can put figures and an X-wing fighter toy that still makes noises after all these years. If anyone wants them take them!

 

I'd say bring them over to me Z... but I'm sure someone out there would give me some kinda crap about that.

That's not true John. I already have that piece of Obi-Wan's toast. So I really don't need a second piece. But thank for looking out. Hey... if you do happen to find a piece of toast with say ... Jar Jar on it. PLEASE let me know.

I'd love the chance to smear something over his face or even just cut him up in to little pieces. lol

Just like to say that. You may think your just being funny, but your not.

Your making me looks like some kinda jerk to new people! Like I rouge stuff and steal items from the group or something? and thats not true.

Thats fine... I'm pretty sure over the last 8 years "I" have given more stuff to this group than half of you all have in your own colletions.

Seeing as everyone think a just take all the stuff for myself. Which I have NEVER done. No prob....

The fact that I collect everything I see and you all give me **** for it all the time. Which is fine.... I live with it. It was kinda fun listen to you all. I collect Star Wars so what.... But I guess I see how everyone feels about this now.

The fact that you are all saying this does p#ss me off a bit. For EVERYTHING I have donated to this group over the years....with are almost countless. Never second guessing anything I have given. From ships to figures, lightsaber, poster you name it. Whenever we needed something!

I see.... I guess none of that meant a thing. No problem. Soooo.............

As the Pres. I now give the title of office Donation Collector to John.

Going forward John does ALL donations it is now offical.

That will means....
-You store it.
-You take to ANY & ALL events the group does. (Which mean you'll need to go to the event)
-You do ALL the set up
-You do the brake down and transport
-and ANYTHING else need for donations

Seeing as NO one has even been to ANY of the last couple of events but me and Brandon. (James does show to Grant Con.) And that for the last 2 shows it has been all MY stuff for auctions and raffles. (-) a box of cards from John. Including going out and buying a $60 set of legos for the table. From pocket, not asking for anything in return. So ....Please feel free to cover all that going forward. Good luck.

As for now, have no more things to give. I believe I have given enough for the time being.

I had to read that post over twice and really think of how I wanted to respond.

First of all, as which has been stated before - if anyone has problems with anything on the boards ADDRESS IT IN PMs. This is not a board for airing laundry, so to speak. With that being said, I feel I need to respond to this.

Now TK, all this was in good teasing. If you had a problem with it, then you should have pmed us about it. This kind of post makes you seem like you have a thin skin, and we all in the group know how you like to tease us about things so turn about is fair play. No one ever imlplied that you steal from the group or anything, so chill.

Are you a spirited collector? Yes, Do you get carried away sometimes when it comes to Star Wars collectibles? Yes. It happens. We've seen it. But no one ever accused you of stealing. Finding things in your storage, now that's another matter. For example, the other day I asked Brandon about the TIE interceptor that I bought from him that he stored in your storage bin. He told me that you said you weren't sure where it was in storage, that is was buried some where. No prob, but you have to admit that even you don't know all that you have in there. So are we going to tease you about it? Hell yeah, it's an easy target! It was not intended to insult or embarrass. Ok, maybe embarrass a little bit but then again that's the intent of teasing!

Secondly, if you want to name me as keeper of the donations, fine. But I will only go to events that I can make it to. I don't react well to people *telling* me what to do - ask Dianna. If we have an event and I can't make it, then someone can come over and get the donated items. If anyone has a problem with that, then sorry about your damn luck!

Thirdly, it's not that we don't appreciate what you have sacrificed for the club. Not at all. It is appreciated and I'm sure we all can find a way to make donations, whatever. I'm sorry that you feel that you don't feel appreciated, if that is in fact the case. But the way you wrote it, it makes it sound as if you the only reason the club exists which comes off as sounding like a D-bag. I'm sure that wasn't your intention, but when reading it, it came off that way.

Fourthly, as for other people not being able to make shows - for some people their lives do not revolve around Star Wars. We all have commitments and obligations that sometimes get in the way of our hobby. Going to an event is not the end all be all of the club. The club will grow and survive aside from advertising itself at shows. Go to shows, have fun. but don't go around brow beating anyone that can't or won't go. Not cool.

Well Sorry...

I did not Pm this to anyone one person because I wished to send it out to all. I don't ...well rarely, get up set with anything or anyone. Most of you ALL know that. This time I needed to get it off my chest and vent. So it was said and address to anyone that reads it. It s posted and I can not take it back nor wish to for the most part. Maybe I could have worded somethings better. But... You all should know by now that is not going to happen .lol


Seeing as everyone, will most everyone chimed in it at one point or another. And reading it all.. it made me a little up set. Mostly because nothing was said or posted in any joking manor. I felt this time the joke was going a little to far. Sorry... So I posted to everyone. There is nothing I can do about that now, nor wish to. That's life and I'm sure everyone will get over it in the next day or so. Most people do.

As for people making events part. I FULLY understand people have lives and family and EVERYTHING ELSE! Plus whatever life has to throw at you.

The point I was making in that comment about shows was to state a fact. Every time we have meeting EVERYONE talks about going to shows. Setting up at shows. Doing shows. We post event & shows months in advance sometimes. No one ever makes any kinda commitments to those shows till sometimes the day before. Which to me... is sad. Its what everyone talks about and than one comes though? Everyone is all ways like... Ummmm... Maybe.... I don't know.... I might have something else....bluh bluh bluh.

But everyone wish to raise money. Do more things. Go to more shows. So.......

It's been that way for the last 3 shows. So the "We have lives thing" is old. I have a family just like everyone else. I have a job... hell 3 kids and a ton of bills.... like everyone else. But when it is something for the group and I know about it WAY in advance I do what I can to help out this group. I make it to the shows. All I'm asking is for some people out there to do the same. That's what I ment in the comment is all.

If we can't get people to go to shows and no one helps out. What is the point of all this non-profit stuff we are doing? Well talking about doing? Why bother? What for? Those are the places we go to raise funds? Right? It suppose to be a a time to hang out have fun...stuff like that?

Hell, I just go with my stuff and set up on my own and sell like I did before. It that going to be the case.

And as far as holding the group together.... YES! Damn straight. I have.. along with John and Brandon over these last 8 years. Look at how many people have come and gone from here over the years. And will continue to come and go in the future. It has been Us as the core from the beginning. So sorry if it comes off like that. That again was not the point. The point was where is the passion from most everyone else out there? I know a few of you out there in the group have it. But where is it? I not seen most of it in months. Yes maybe I get a little more excite than most. But that just me.


But think about it.... do you know of ANY person out there.... That has EVER said thanks TK? You know, for whatever? Donations, setting up an event. Help people get to con's. Interducing you all to other people. Getting in people to place for free. Not hosting meetings, I know I get thanks for that. But anything else? I dont.... I realy don't. For maybe the the last year it has felt like it would just be assumed that TK will take care of it. I problem we'll get it from TK. Oh... TK can cover it.

And I WILL! Every single time this group needs ANYTHING! I will give my heart and soul for it. Just like I have since the very beginning.

NO I'm not looking for anything so DON"T start! I don't wish to hear it . I'm sure you ALL give be giving we enough as it is on this one. lol

Hey TK I have some episode two attack of the clones Kleenex for you. I will give them to you so no one thinks you took them! How old are you guys? I thought to be in this group you had to be 18. you guys acting like high school girls! NOT SURE IF I WANT TO BE PART OF A GROUP THAT FIGHTS! If I did I would join FIGHT CLUB. STAR WARS is ment to be fun. IS IT NOT!

Let's face it, times have been hard on everyone and it gets to people including us in this group. I personally didn't mean for the teasing to go so far that it upset you. So I personally apologize, I was just having some fun. So no hard feelings, and I understand the need to vent.

I also want to personally thank you for everything that you have done for me and the group. Without you, I wouldn't have made it to two SW Celebrations, Supermegafests, meeting some cool SW actors and the list goes on. If you want, I'll give ya a big 'ol HUG the next time I see ya! lol

And Chris (I hope you don't mind me using your name), it's no different than brothers having a spat. We don't throw down and what you have witnessed here is the exception and not the rule. You'll find us a very easy going group, so please give us a chance and I think you'll like what you see. You'll have fun with a lot of stuff, and besides that we're COOL!
