That's a big peeve here too. I'll always say at the end of a chapter that the more reviews I get the faster I update...but that's because seeing interest gets me writing faster. I've never once held a chapter hostage because that's...well.

I think it's OK to wait for one's regulars for a couple of days more than scheduled, though.

Quality > quantity. This may result in your story suffering on that front.

OTOH, I've always wondered just how much readers care about the quality of writing. I suspect that, so long as it's above a certain level, they don't.

Quality ≠ quantity. Neither should be placed above the other.

I care, I just don't say it unless I know the author wants constructive criticism.

I realized that an invested audience of two people is enough to keep me wanting to write. Less, and the WIP is in serious danger of cancellation. More is awesomesauce.

2 is enough for me, too....though I always had at least 4.

You can be that smiley face star from Care Bears. You fall and kill all the Care Bears to make room for Ewoks.

I wonder who that might be...

I don't control the plot bunnies! They control me!

But I am better for it. They're so beautiful. And so lovely.

Small peeve, the use of the words Sun and Solar when not referring to Earth's system or star.

EDIT: I lie it is a huge peeve of mine, can barely contain myself when I see it.

Saying "the sun" is one thing. Saying "the Sun" is another thing entirely. Solar I don't mind because solar is just relating to a sun, vs the Sun.

    It's cool when the suns of other systems have names though. Even if it's like Tatoo I and Tatoo II. 8-}

I still feel that even saying sun is wrong, again this is a personal thing but, I feel that sun or the Sun should only be used when referring to Sol. and Star and stellar to be used when referring to any unknown star. If the star is named in universe work with it, so in your example I'd go with Tattoar winds, or similar.

EDIT: Like I said barely containing myself

The word solar relates to any sun, just as stellar (usually used in space) relates to any star.

While the Sun relates to our own; sun, small 's' is not confined to Sol. That is just in your head, mate.

West End Games did sometimes have a name for suns though, the name of the star system then another word, which I cannot remember.

Edit: You must really hate the solar arrays on TIE fighters.

    Review pet peeves:

"You know that....right?" "Did you know that...?" "*blank* is supposed to be *blank*, you know?"
Yes, I know. Unfortunately, kind reviewer, that said person has been..."out of the loop" shall we say. So it's very likely that the character would not know all that stuff.

Also to the other dear reviewers, using an obscure comic to make me rethink my blatantly AU plot is also not going to work. :p

I got that once, for doing what the profic authors are doing - implementing Legends into NUcanon.

That's why it's fanfic and not "canon" :) Besides even "canon" doesn't get things straight.

    Pet peeve

malicious reviews. Now I don't mind constructive criticism. I want to lean new ways to better myself, but having a review

such as " This story sucks. I've wasted five minutes of my life." is not edifying.

Or hostile personal attacks on a writer because you don't like something.

And also a review that isn't really a review i.e

    Review implies you've read it.
If you are scrolling down ff.net and see a plot summary you don't like, why bother leaving a nasty "review"

Writers that seem to know NOTHING about the world they're writing in. I chose not to leave a review for one such fic since I try to give constructive criticism in reviews and if I left a review for this particular fic the tone would have been 'you're a freaking idiot' instead of 'you have some things messed up'.

If you are asking someone for fic recommendations, and you receive them, do not whine in any way, shape, or form about the recommendations you received. People took the time to provide you with information. Don't be an ungrateful fool.

When authors break up a canon couple in an implausible way so they can make the story have their preferred pairing.

    OTP foreva.

Ironically, that can be done well, but it takes a great author to pull it off. I...rarely see that.
