I was thinking for our December meeting, we could have a Christmas party. We could even make it a family thing, as I have connections with Santa, and might be able to convince him to stop by. (my dad plays Santa for friends and meetings) We still have several items left over from our membership raffle, so we could either give those away then, or do a Toys For Tots drive.

If you like the idea or have some more ideas, just post away.

We do still have plenty of items from AlphaCon, so that's a good idea. But, I really think Santa needs to be escorted by a couple of Stormtroopers. If they are up to it. Sounds like it would be fun.

I'm probably available from the 17th through 21st. Not a lot of time but it's what I got. :( Leaving on the 22nd to go north for Christmas. May be able to work 13-17th if I don't go to Minneapolis to hang with some prop buddies.

As soon as I recieve my armor, depending on how long it takes to assemble it. Its "supposed" to ship today. I guess I'll know shortly. But if everything goes well, and its ready, I would be honored to escort Santa, haha!

How many people have children? Bob, Craig and I do. So thats at least 3. Anyone else?

Sounds like a great idea, the toys for tots, or even just the fun part. Let me know details when you have them, and I'll post on FF main page if you like.

    BTW: Love the new banner
BTW part 2: you are going to Mpls.

I think it's a great idea. we could have all age type games, maybe a potluck. I really dig the Santa/Stormtrooper escort idea.

So shall we make this a potluck dinner affair? Do we want to do anything for a charity? I believe the Santa/Stormtrooper thing is settled. Any other ideas?

Potluck sounds good to me. I also think it would be nice to do something for charity too. Anybody have any ideas on where we could have it? If it were a family affair we would need a place with a decent amount of room.

Anybody else interested in the Christmas Party? We should probably start planning one if we are doing it.

We will more than likely have to find another stormtrooper to escort our Santa...Once again things have gone wrong...The 501st still cant deliver on the armor....Im beginning to wonder if I've been ripped off....

After comparing schedules at last nights meeting, it appears December is a pretty bad month for people. So we discussed having a New Years party instead, perhaps the first week of January. Would that be something more do-able for everyone?

Hey there! Drop me an email at tk895@midwestgarrison.com

Maybe I can help you with your armor situation. There have been some changes within the 501st and the bad eggs are now gone. Lets make this a great Imperial Christmas!

Did I meet you at AlphaCon? I was a BikerScout and I am the one who brought the Death Star wall. My daughter was along as well, she was Queen Amidala's handmaiden Padme.

It just won't feel like Christmas without Imperial Stormtroopers.

I hate to be a stickler for detail, but if we aren't having the party on or near Christmas, and not on New Year's eve, then what's the point of trying to attach a holiday theme to this meeting? Why not just have the Lord of the Rings outing be our December meeting, and then have a regular January meeting? It's not much of a Xmas party, if it's in the second week of January. Of course, if you want to call it a Christmas party, then far be it from me to ruin your holiday season.

    Yours truly,

    the Grinch

If you don't like Carrie Fisher's Life Day song, how about a chorus of "What Can You Get a Wookiee for Christmas (When He Already Owns a Comb)" :p

I like Bobs idea! Lets just call it our "Life Day" party! Of course we would have to have an honorary viewing of "THE" special :)

Of course, and NO fast forwarding at all. We have to watch the whole thing.

It could be an endurance contest of sorts. See who lasts the longest w/o having to leave the room. The winner gets an action figure or something.

Make the contest really hard - who can go the longest without leaving the room, OR plugging their ears, OR throwing up...

    ...maybe that's too hard... :p
